I have come across a helpful new AT that seems to ease the major cause of tournament stress for many Shiek players.
Most people think that you have to hold A after selecting Zelda until your stage has loaded. I am here to say that is not true.
If you are on manual stage select, you only have to hold A after you've selected a stage. Once you press A while hovering over a stage, you simultaneously must hold A to turn into Shiek before the battle begins.
Even harder to master, but great for cutting down on thumb stress, is the shortened AT where you only hold the A button for the first half of the loading time of the stage. This reduces the time you had to have the A button depressed by almost 50%
If you are on random stage select, you again are free from taxing your thumb until after the start button is pressed. You can select your character and continue moving the hand cursor at your leisure, but you must be the one to press Start so that you can press A simultaneously. On random stage select, you must have A depressed the entire duration of the stage load.
The manual stage select 50% trick cannot be employed here. Also, tournament provisions might have to be made to allow the Shiek player the courtesy of pressing the Start button to begin a match so that they can perform this technique.
