Couldn't think of the best way to search for this but tried a few different cominations anyway with no luck. Don't mind the presentation, I was just a bit bored. Lemme know if this is already known or whatever.

My theory is that it had to do with buffering and Yoshi's Island's weird edge slopes, probably hitting the shield as well. If replicatable, and if you could time it so the mortar comes out? Possibilities abound for sweet edgeguard tricks.

Ha ha, I remember the first time I did this. It was a couple of weeks ago...I fell off and I had no idea that I would just fly off the ledge. I just kinda looked at my friend in awe and laughed it off. I never thought of trying to do something with this.

I think the push of his shield forced you to go off the edge, after you pushed him with the snake dash.

Yea I've done this on FD too. I think Cecilanius is right about the shield pushing, because it was the same situation for me.

Okay, cool. So there's usual circumstances to it. Could either of you replicate it if you tried? And, more importantly, can you space it from the edge so that the mortar just barely comes out before you slide off?

I'll try to see if I can do anything with this at TripleHelix's house. I'm going there this weekend. Maybe if you make a flat map with a larger slope at the end of it and do the same thing, a mortar might have a better chance of shooting out. I'll get back to you on this.

I can do this fairly easily on a slope. But, it is impossible for a mortar to come out. If the mortar comes out, I don't fly off the edge. :(

I guess that's both good news and bad news. Bad because that would've been a sweet tactic, good because I don't play Snake
