I don't know if anyone has mentioned it here, but head jump/hopping can be used to send the opponent down, and you upwards in midair. I accidentally killed pit this way as a computer level 9, so it might be useful.

Foolstool jumping? It's technically a tech already.

yea, I have seen Many Videos of people utilizing this when they can. Seems somewhat very effective.
