Guess I was wrong. Anyway...well, we'll probably see a bunch of old trophies turn into AT's now. As well as the less reasonable characters on Sakurai's poll.

All in all, he does look like a pretty cool assist trophy. Note this is another screenshot where the character that summoned the AT is missing. If the summoner vanished, it would do enough to differentiate AT's from pokeballs.

I myself am just glad he's an AT and thats all.
He would be a terrible playable fighter.
Also, I argee with Prinny.
I woulden't bat an eyelash to see many of the trophies become ATs.

Seriously, he looks like he'll be a strange but awesome Assist Trophy. I mean, he can send people flying through the air with a TOWER, that is pure ownage(God,I NEVER thought I'd say that about a guy with green hair and a Hitler mustache.)

Another thing: If all of your opponents are spread out,will the Good Doctor send out multiple towers after them or just one after one person?

I was hoping he'd be in the game, back when there were those rumors of 50 characters floating around. Or, maybe, when you take the ATs into account there will be fifty? Hmm.

And the skyscrapers popping out of the ground is perfect - I don't know why I always imagined them as dropping out of the sky. Whipping people around with his pointer and driving trains over the competition would have been awesome, but maybe next time.

Since Dr. Wright was apparently on Sakurai's poll, and Sakurai said characters that didn't quite make it are going to be ATs, expect all of the unreasonable characters on the poll to be ATs. Although then again, this was already pretty obvious, but now we have proof!

1. Excellent details and textures

2. Cool-looking rendered pic


With that in mind, you will know the difference between playable and non-playable characters.

Three things gave it away for me that he wouldn't be playable when I first saw him...

1. Me thinking that no way they would make him a playable character.

3. There is a difference in the background between playable and non-playable characters.

Speaking of characters that shown up on the poll, I don't ever see Link's Uncle being an AT at all. Also, I think there will be a playable character or two that hardly anyone considers important or popular.

If people want to play as the AT people someone could always rig the playable skeletons to the AT's meshes. Theres a video some were on Youutbe were some one switched up the meshes and skeletons of different characters, but I can't find it.

I like this update, it says Nintendo is not afraid to put in the WTF factor in its game, with these ATs. It still amazes me how, after all the speculation about both playable characters, and now, ATs, Nintendo manages to slip in somebody/something that hardly anybody was thinking about.

I dunno about you, but when I think of Nintendo characters, the old SNES Sim City is probably the last thing I'd have in mind. Heck, I had forgotten that that even WAS a NINTENDO game until now...

I'm glad Sakurai's stickin' with his guns, though this isn't TOO big of a surprise, as Dr. Wright was a trophy in Melee, so we already knew Sakurai had a little love for him in the first place.

But jesus flippin' H. Macy, what's with everyone flipping out over the initial thought of him being a playable character? If an industry veteran and expert like Sakurai wants to make a SimCity advisor a playable character, I'm **** sure he could make it fit.

Yes, and many more retro characters who aren't important enough to be playable will be AT's. Like Demiru, Takamaru, Sukapon, Mach Rider, Little Mac, etc.
