The fact that you even dare imply that the majority of the cast was not buffed in the transition to Ultimate shows me you aren’t work talking to. Literally go on each character page on the Smash wiki and look at how many buffs every character received. There is nothing to debate here, it is an objective fact.

But hey, why wouldn’t I expect backwards thinking from the guy who made the thread “I would prepare for the worst, especially with Chrom”. That sure aged like fine wine, didn’t it?

I don’t have to, you said it yourself. You are garbage. You waste away on internet forums, complaining about the game instead. And when confronted to put your skill to where your mouth is, you get defensive and indirectly decline by being passive aggressive. You can put up your “im too above you to play against you” facade, but anyone reading this know you are scared, and like you said, a coward.

I am generally against nerfing and the toxic Nerf Culture, but sometimes it is needed. Let me take a few steps back.

You find a fighter or strategy that gives you a great deal of trouble.

Before going any further, is the reason for this that you simply don't know the counterplay to stop it, are you simply using a fighter with a poor matchup against this type of fighter? Or is it genuinely cheap and unfair? This is a difficult question to answer, especially since we generally don't like to take full blame for our losses; I know I've been guilty of it myself in the past. Try to look at it objectively, and do some reading on sources such as SSBWiki or various threads to learn what fighters or strategies stop the cheap tactic. However, if it turns out it has nothing to do with your own choice of fighter and play style, AND there are many people expressing the same concern, then perhaps it may be wise to nerf that thing.

However, the vast majority of the time, what is going on is simply that the player doesn't know how to deal with something, and so they opt to blame the loss on the tactic rather than said lack of understanding. A nerf is not needed here.

Please don't get the idea that I'm simply trying to rationalize using any of these tactics, per se. My main is generally considered a low mid-tier.

Nerf culture seems to thrive when one move or combo breaks the meta and wins a tournament or something. Until people discover a way to counter a certain strategy, something will always seem objectively broken.
