So I need help vs. Ganon. He's just an awkward matchup for me.... it's like the perfect counter to me :p. These vids are 4 months old, so i've gotten somewhat better since then, but these were the best ones I could find where I am actually focusing on the match more than me trying not to mess up my tech.

j00t (Fox) vs. Sensai (Ganon) Pokemon Stadium

Some things I already know about these matches:

1) My recovery was predictable and horrid. I set him up to do an u-air for the kill waaaay too many times, so i'm gonna start recovering lower.
2) I was waaaaay too aggressive. I ran into his attacks a LOT and it really screwed me over.

The main thing I need to know at this point is how to escape Ganon's stupid double dair combos and whatnot. I guess I can just techroll if the first dair hits me into the ground, but the DI to escape the first dair if it knocks you into the air seems nonexistant (As in i'm holding the control stick away so I can DI away, but it doesn't seem to work). Any other advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

all you can do against dair is tech it....I mean you can DI everything in the game but for dair it is easiest to just tech.

you need to be waaaaay less aggressive.
also dont roll. ever. bad habit.
dash dance helps a lot. you did good with laser baiting but once gannon is coming dash dance to space yourself out of his fair then punish w/ uthrow - uair

other than that I think the matchup should be more in fox's favor because of your ability to combo ganon is so easy. just keep him in the air and the combos will follow.

Ganon can be very very predictable once you get him up in the air.

Play patiently and dont rush into attacks. And do be picky about the way you recover, Edgeguarding is one of ganon's best assets. Mix it up with the Firefox to delay yourself a second longer. If he's on the stage, just Illusion sweetspot, dont recover low.

Edgeguarding him a big part to your advantage. Always edgehog, when he goes for the ledge doublejump back on stage and dsmash or neutral get up.

I think you can tech to escape the double Dair combo.

Use your own advice, it seemed to be spot on.

you cant just run at ganon mindlessley. the only good it will do you is a fair to the face.

you have to do it with correct spacing and timing. also...wavedashing out of shield is your friend, and while on that topic, learn to love your shield if you feel like playing campy against all his fairs towards you.

edguarding ganon is easy so i shouldnt have to explain that

First your doing Firefox to the stage to much. Do forward B and you probably wont run into his ledgeguards as much. Second, your playing to much defense. You should be doing more melee than the SHL. Keep on him and dont give him time to think. Third you need to improve your U-smash accuracy. and thats about all

will you should do lot of high jump neutral air kicks to counter his moves, also try to out space all of your move and try not to get space fsmash.

run around him and use your speed, make him miss attacks that he will randomly throw out, then punish him with an easy fox vs gannon combo. if you get him off of the edge it should be death. so practice those things!
