Need Help Finding Good Smash Regions

I'm going to college next year and I'm looking for what colleges to apply to now. I really am having a hard time choosing between colleges right now, because I don't have a lot of preferences. School size, aesthetics, the feel, and stuff like that don't matter much to me so I need another way to narrow it down. Region usually doesn't mean much to me, but I see lots of people here complain about not having anyone good to play against or not having a very good smash scene in the area so tournies (if they have any) suck. I don't want to be stuck in that position so I want to know what regions I should avoid because they have no smash scene at all and any state with a decent smash scene. I know md/va and California have great smash scenes but I'm certainly not going to narrow down my search to just 3 states for this reason so don't just post those 3 places.

tl;dr version: what regions have little to no smash scene and which states have decent or good ones.

P.S. Feel free to make this a who has the "best smash scene thread" which can slowly degrade into a "EC vs WC" thread after my question's answered. ;)

Cool. ^^
I was so expecting something like "md/va. topic close. *ganon utilt*"

Anyone else know of other places with decent to good smash scenes. Is the midwest completely lacking in one like I assume?

East coast = Beast coast.

MD/VA/DC is the best scene, IMO.

lol I know the east is the best with much of that ownage in the md/va area (NYC ain't bad either ;P).

Lemme rephrase my question a bit? What places have no decent smash scene to speak of (region wise and on a state level)?

Move to Cinnaminson, New Jersey.

Mew2King is all the Smash scene you need.
