I only have one thing to say.

It would be wise to often have a grenade in your hand. It'll stop him from chaingrabbing you, and if you're in a lower controller port than he is, the grenade should damage him while not hurting you. (I might be wrong, only tested it against Falco.)

I might put add some other things if nobody else posts in here.

Don't get grabbed.

If you do, like the other guy said, having a nade's good, and you can jab between grabs to break it up (I think?)

Oh, and ftilt and utilt are ALWAYS good

Yes you can jab to stop him from continuing the chain grab, but smart D3's will start to delay their grabs or start ftilting to counter your jabbing.

By the way, mortar destroys D3 when he's coming down from his up+b.

Honestly I've never played a good D3 so I don't have much to say.

Let's see... all I know about Dedede is that his ftilt is great for spacing. Don't try rushing him, force him to come to you. That way, you limit his options, and thus are allowed to handle him as you wish.

Should i plat defensive or offensive against him, i was thinking of play defensive and just drop c4 and mine and throw grenades at him, and if he come close i run away and repeat the process. Not sure if it work cause i usually a aggressive player.

? Lower controller port? Explain please.
There are some weird properties associated with the controller ports including grab priority. Honestly, I can't think of any besides grab priority right now, but I'm sure there are others.

I'm pretty sure I even saw a thread about it in the tactical discussion or somewhere like that.

Anyway, with Snake, if you get chaingrabbed while you have a grenade in your hand, the person in the higher controller port will make the grenade explode on them, so it's best to get the lowest possible port (when you're playing against someone who can chaingrab you at least).

Try it out and see for yourself. Just play a normal brawl with two human players (they can even be both controlled by you). Have one be Snake and the other Falco (or DDD or whoever). Have Snake shield drop a grenade, pick it up, then before it blows up, have Falco chaingrab him with his down throw. The person in the higher controller port will explode.

Sorry if this is just clutter or whatever.

Back on topic, I think you should mix it up. If you want, cook grenades to scare him and make him approach you. Know that he can play pretty well defensively, too, though. Watch out for those Gordos!

Also, always try to stay on the ground as much as possible. Once he gets you in the air, he'll juggle you and it gets ugly. Jab his little minions if they get in the way, but don't make it a priority because he might just sneak up and try to start chaingrabbing you (or something just as evil) while you're killing them. Lastly, never fall for his inhale suicide. It will totally mindrape you.

Oh yeah, and if you're allowed to ban a stage, ban Coneria. He can infinite chaingrab you with the wall on that stage. =(

umm wtf, no you can't not if they shield cancel grab. If they just dash grab this will work but they have to be a pretty terrible dedede player if they can't do chain grabbing correctly.

Thank you! I've heard people say this, but I've been chaingrabbed before and could never just jab out of it. The only way to get out of it is to have a grenade in your hand before you get grabbed, right?

If that's wrong, I'd like video proof or something.

Well when you get grabbed the grenade falls out of your hand so grenades don't really help THAT much if the dedede knows what they are doing.
