N64 controller in tournaments

I've been thinking about buying an adapter that allow would me to use my N64 controllers with the Gamecube/Wii, shown here.

My question is, would something like this be allowed in mainstream Smash tournaments?

As a TO, I would say that I would allow this. It does not modify the actual controller in any way, so I really wouldn't have a problem with it as long as you were able to do everything quick and easily. I view it as more of a 'cosmetic' thing than modifying you controller. Of course it's always wise to ask your local TO if it would be allowed at their tournament or not. You'd probably be fine if you explained that it didn't modify the controller in any way and was simply for your own personal convenience.
