My Wii is broken and won't accept discs

If I put one in, it goes about 3/4 in then just gets stuck. I can't push them any farther in either. So now I'm stuck with virtual console/wiiware titles until I get it fixed...thing is, its $75 (NOT INCLUDING tax and shipping

) to send it to Ninty and they'll of course get rid of my homebrew. Doesn't look like I have any options unless someone knows how to fix stuff like this at home...please tell me this can be fixed at home? I really don't want to send it in and pay up

tl;dr anyone know how to fix the wii disc slot at home?

Call nintendo and send it in.
They might fix it for free.

On nintendo.com they said its out of warranty, so I doubt theyd fix it for free

You're technically screwed, lol.

I guess you didn't have the 4.2v firmware since you still have homebrew. Not sure what you can do w/o losing homebrew and possibly obtaining the 4.2v firmware. Sorry.

Do they remove homebrew no matter what? I can run the safe updater to get on 4.2 before sending it in

Good idea
(and) they should remove homebrew. Erase it before you send it in though.
