When Super Smash Bros. Melee first came out, how many people actually made an attempt to discover certain techniques? Was DI even known around that time? After all, in Super Smash Bros., there is no DI. At least that's what I'm told and after playing it for a long while, it's believable. But let's get to the point.
It took maybe eight years if not lesser to find different techniques specifically for certain characters and all characters. Come Brawl's release, not many tried to learn different advance techniques. But someone did and then something like B-sticking become known very quickly. Knowing that in Melee there were different amounts of AT's, there had to be a lot in Brawl, right?
Lo and behold, people started attempting to find new AT's for their characters and for each character in the game. There may be more AT's that haven't been discovered, but we've discovered so much in so little time compared to what Melee vets discovered. Correct me if I am wrong. But I believe because we've become more aware, we decided to find glitches and exploits.
If another Super Smash Bros. game comes out, sure enough a lot of people will probably be trying to find something in the game. But how long will that take if it happens?
