Smash Apprentice
I'm not sure when exactly it was introduced, but this game is available for $10 on Wiiware, and I'm interested in what you guys think about it. Personally, I'm not impressed yet, and probably won't be. Serebii.net appears to like it, though, and as far as simple storage goes, this is a decent program.
Ok, so here's the deal for those who haven't picked it up. It's like a cross between Pokemon Box for the GC and the Mii Channel you already have. At its peak, you can store up to 1000 pokemon from your DS games (though they are pinned to specific save files, so you can't transfer them to other games or back after you make a new save file). When it begins, you can only have 20, counting the 6 that you start out with. As you fill up the ranch, it'll grow to fit more of them, bring in new ones every day, and it will even help you finish out your collection. It will check out your save file and give you little assignments on what pokemon to catch. For a game as huge as Pokemon, it can be nice to have this outside influence motivating you to fill up your pokedex. Storing your pokemon in here can also effectively be like a safe box for your pokemon, since I can't see any reason for them to get accidentally glitched away besides the generic means of all electronics.
All Pokemon get Mii-ified, shrunken down to chibi size and looking kinda like animal Miis. Once deposited, they'll take care of themselves without your manual input, and there actually isn't much you can do to interfere with them. They'll play, sleep, have special activities, etc. alongside your own Miis all automatically. Now, I don't keep track of all my pokemon's natures, so I'm not sure if they play a role in your pokemon's behaviors in-game. Of particular interest is that the game does recognize the existence of shiny pokemon, as I have 2 that are represented in their shiny forms here (for the curious, that's Zubat and Machoke).
That's all I really have to say about it, since I don't know anyone who'd be able to hook up with it online yet. There are other minor functions such as taking pictures, but for the most part this is an inactive "game." I just know that I intend on treating this as little more than storage and a "put me to sleep with some background noise" program. With my legends and shinies inside my Wii, there's less chance that something bad might happen through glitches of *ahem* less ethical players. (A little aside, I just saw a Staravia riding on my Rayquaza! That's so cute! Holy crap, how can a Magikarp leap like 40 feet in the air? It said it's joyful, but man...)
