What should he improve on? I don't know much about Pikachu, but we plan on entering doubles in a local tourny soon, but he doesn't have a Wii, so the only time he gets to play is when he's over at my house. I'd rather not fail in the first round, so I'm trying to get him as good as possible. The only thing he's started doing since this video is edgeguarding a little more.

Needs more QAC, and he should work on edge guarding with thunder and double thunder. and he tries to grab to much, your friend has to work on when to grab instead not just trying to grab. He needs to incorporate Thunder jolt in his approach and retreating technique.

He plays just like I used to...

Needs more neutral air, up tilt, up air, quick attack (cancel) and more aggressive edge guarding.

Needs less dash attacks and grab attempts.

Also video has too much stick (controllers) noise. Reminded me of GEEETAAR HEEERO Youtube vids.

He needs to be more agressive offstage. Also, tell him to do other things than just a ledge attack when on the ledge, it can be shield grabbed. Especially the over 100% ledge attack.
Try to pick a stage with the least amount of platforms if you want his thunder to be more useful onstage. Ban luigi's mansion.
Tell him to use thunder in a way to that even if you miss you can't get punished for it. (Reverse thunder, fastfall thunder, QAC to thunder.)
