(Dedicated to everybody I've met, friend and foe alike, and especially to the Sonic boards, you guys are seriously way too good.)

...June 2nd, 2008... probably a good time to get familiar with place, or not, depends on how you look at it. Personally as long as you have a pair, you won't mind too much about how people bag on you for your join date, especially when most of those people are probably Melee veterans who just presumed you were some random n00b/****** who joined for a game they did not find very fun. That's true with me, or at least the part where I only came to this site for the Brawl. Sure I won't lie that I probably wasn't internet smart, and yeah you could call me a newb back then (there is a difference).

H'oh, where do I start...? I suppose there's no problem with just leaving out any details not pertaining to this place. Regardless I came across this place through a Google search when I was very bored on Summer vacation. I got very tired of playing Brawl on the screwed up Wi-Fi system, with only 2 minutes to do whatever, so I tried to find a place which had a place to meet other people with FCs who were interested in actually getting better in a much better environment. If anybody remembers back when the Friend Finder was up, it was a great thing when you knew not of where any local competition was.

I played against a decent amount of people, one of which I sadly do not remember myself was Le_Thien, I'll take his word for it. After a while that got boring, and I started to look around the forum, not bad considering I wasn't really looking for anything of major importance, just going anywhere I felt like, making a random post here and there, and still had no idea of the troubles people with low post-count really had to deal with. To this day I don't see what warrented the kind of behavior, no sir. Now that I'm in the same spot as those people back then, and knowing that being ignored isn't exactly cool, I now just reply to anything that I can. It sucks though when you feed a troll though. It's funny because even though I post A LOT right now, I'm not sure everybody is willing to jump to respond to me. lol

Looking back at some of my older posts, I was so quick to reply that I don't know what I could've been thinking. Although I did say back then Falco did have a bit of a more even matchup with Meta Knight, and look where we are now! Just one of my better posts you could say. Anyway I start to notice the places I venture into, for instance the Forums Games section on Smashboards. Now while I do not go there anymore, and I wish to return sometime when I am not as busy with whatever I'm doing, it was and still is, a pretty cool place... that is if you can keep up with all the internet memes and junk. Even if you couldn't honestly, it was still a joy to have a laugh every now and then. Man I miss that place, maybe I'll return during the Summer vacation. To "spice up" my return, I'm thinking of managing another thread in there, to keep a log of all the things used in the FGs room, like youtube poops, such as the CD-i Links, or perhaps the classic things that never get old even though they're done over 9,000!!!!!! times. I know it would certainly help any new Forum Gamers that would be sent to my thread.

I'm not really proud of this, but if yo go to the Creative minds section, you should see a little number I did a long while back... I need to return to that too again sometime, I liek to keep my word on things.

After time goes by, I somehow get a little bit more interested in what was in the actual game. I am a competitive person, always trying to be better if possible, so when I noticed the sub-forums of characters like Ike, I could collaberate with some other people to help me (and I suppose help them, lol) get better. No longer do I keep myself up-to-date with Ike other than my now stickied thread, and perhaps a couple of posts here and there. Ike was only fun for so long before I just gave up on him because I never really was good with him, and I felt I would only be doing more harm to myself and others if I did not find a new character to play with. Don't get me wrong though, it feels really good to get the occasional Forward Smash kill at inhumanly low percentages, hehe.

Ike was the first character I said I would play at the release of Brawl, so again there's a display of me keeping my word. I never really could connect with the smash characters other than Pikachu from the Pokemon series which I watched a lot, and Kirby. I played Kirby in 64 and in Melee... casually of course, I now realised that after a while I stopped playing Kirby because he wasn't any fun, while people like Marth/Luigi/Doctor Mario were all pretty decent characters. I knew not how to wavedash, so Marth with his long sword just took care of everything. I'm such a tier-wh***. As for Pikachu, I lvoed watching Pokemon, but he never really fit my style, though if I wanted to I could pick him up as a silly character, zipping around with QAC is too good.

So this is where Sonic, and his respective character board come in. Now I knew Sonic since I was in diapers, watching my Cousin play Sonic the Hedgehog II on the Genesis, and me always pestering him to give me a turn. I always wanted to play him on the side with Ike, but like all my past characters in the previous games, he did not feel normal at first, and was only decent. So I never bothered to go to his board other than make one thread a long time ago, exporting it to a place where you could download songs from the days of old. Yay my first contribution, and mods didn't close it! I'll tell you though, the staff must've been in some other place doing whatever, if you see them now, think if a majority of them were killed off... that's how laid back the system was back then.

I also had no idea of what was going on in there back then, to them, I was just another person who would probably never have showed up again. I'll build up to it later how I proved that wrong, but for now let me continue from where I left off. After a while were Ike was not showing promise, I had little to do but either quit playing Brawl or start getting accustomed to Sonic's playstyle. Only now do I realise how deep Sonic is and how the reason I couldn't play him at first was because I could not exploit his good attributes, which to a random person flying around were subtle to pick up on. Dear God Sonic has more metagame in his Down-B/Side-B than some characters have in their entire moveset!

I suppose it was for nostalgic reasons and determination that made me a smart enough to start getting along with some of the "normies" of the Sonic boards, which back then included the still spammy Boxob, Teh Umby (that's how it's spelled BTW), the infraction-magnet MemphisChains, the creator (and probably now lol destroyer of) Sonic, Tenki, CiTH who could be describbed as Boxob's "lil' bro" if you hadn't known any better, Aeghrur, that Chinese boy who has parents who probably beat him with a whip for gettiong a B+ in his report card, Terios the Hedgehog who was a moderator of the Sonic boards on another website, Camalange who would probably be my long-lost brother (I swear we are alike), and many more people I cannot mention or this list would go on forever. Please forgive me if you are reading this and I do not mention you, maybe you were like RSR or Anthinus or probably did post a long time ago before I came but I never did see your posts, though your contributions did help eventually when I saw them. Then perhaps you might be like the Magnificent Marth (Magnum) who instead of choosing to be as spontanious as I (LOL!), just sat back and helped behind the scenes later on.

There were some people who posted as much as I did yet had more reverence amongst the majority, they were people who still contributed, but in a much different way. Where you see people posting on a forum about theories and ATs, these were the people who went to tournaments, and put these traits of Sonic's to where it mattered... the tournament scene. Only now do I realise that I am in their shoes that just because you weren't on the board posting, does not mean that you didn't help for the case, which the purpose of all character boards is to make the character better of course. I tend to keep up with everything and everybody so that way I can appreciate every little thing even the smallest person does, I know that a little "thank you" every now and then keeps people going on forward.

I can only imagine what Tenki had to put up with, while I do now and did then my thing, I was just like everybody else, who really didn't go to the Sonic boards to learn, but to rather socialize, while he had to keep things in order. Honestly without him, I just don't know what would be. Overtime all his efforts were never wasted on me, I still played competitive Online and just beat people here and there, and of course lose but bleh Wi-Fi is stupid if you do not know that already. Anyway after some time the moderators of this place finally got their thing together, and started to raid the place and do their job. What probably caused it was the fact that Boxob and CiTH revived a lot of dead, and moreso unecessary threads, and Tenki and DJBrowny (another Sonic player from Australia) reported them.

While this was probably very humilating for the both of them, it probably was for the better. We got the staff to do their thing (LOL!), and eventually we got to a better place. It didn't look good to have like 5 closed trheads on the first page for a long while, but I suppose it wasn't/isn't a problem as long as the end result was just dandy. So everybody (I mean literally) started to do work, come up with new stuff to test, new things to use in tournaments, more frequenters staretd to go to more tournaments, and bam, we're now a happy, yet successful board who has taken their beloved character into overdrive, and we still have more work to be done, but it is oh so very worth it.

Nothing can or could've stopped us, we went to great lengths to make sure everything was precise. Have you seen the Weekly Character Discussion: Sonic thread? Oh Dear Heavens how as we may have/can put it now "we grilled those false SBR guys to the bare bone!" The amount of ignorance in that thread had so infuriated us, the "flames" (maybe) were almost warrented, at the sheer lack of knowledge about Sonic, how people like Overswarm who had claimed a simple MK DTilt in place would destroy Sonic. (laugh it up, as much as you may love/hate it, he wasn't completely wrong, but obviously he did a fine job of representing the so-called government of the forum in that matter) So after teh raid, we get global mods such as Hylian and Xsyven to perhaps watch over us until they could find somebody to dedicate their time to us I suppose. I liked Xsyven I did, he would get things done, and he was the mod to take down and close the abomination that was the WCD thread where nothing but lies about Sonic roamed.Hylian is an okay person too once you look past the infraction-**** he likes to hand out.

So skipping forward in time, they finally get Xiivi to look over us. I had no idea who he was or where he could've came from, but he was, and still is a good moderator too. Some of us had shunned him away, and sure that did boost the egos up, but it really didn't help. He still kept doing his job whether we wanted him around or not, and personally he did a fine job because I was doing nothing wrong and I did not have to deal with him too much if at all. Anyway so all that is said and done, Sonic boards to this day are pretty chill guys, we're all in the Xatroom so we can still be as social as we want, and keep our work where it should be, and we're all around the forum, still searching for people who like to think they know a d*** thing about Sonic when the fact is they probably think Side-B and Down-B are the same move. I swear if we aren't going around preaching to people, it would be False-SBR gallore.

It doesn't matter though, I love what I do, even if some people want me dead. I don't care if Sakurai messed up Sonic's attributes, I don't even care that all the stuff Sonic has takes a lot to soak up, master, and apply in battle, and it still hardly takes him anywhere, I love the challenge now that I myself am in the offline/-inperson tourney scene. People will always be biased and have their own reason for hating Sonic, but it doesn't get me down at the least bit. I just do my thing, and **** people with Sonic, who is to them a character that shouldn't have even been in Brawl. To see the look on their faces when all those guys who like to compensate for tiers because of their lack of skill get slapped around by me, where every match is a struggle because Sonic has few/no advantegeous matchups and he has to work extra hard to get less results.

No matter who says what, nothing can persuay me to ever quit Sonic now, there is nobody else in Brawl worth it to put my effort into, and yes while I acknowledge this game isn't the best, Sonic makes this game way too good. Even at times when I don't even get past the first round in tourneys, I know that with enough work put into it, my skill can get anywhere, and with enough practice, I can make Sonic broken. I am very happy that I have what I have, to be able to play tourneys and not have to use a back-up character because to this day there is no one character who can break Sonic to the point where he can't compete. At least that's a blessing and a curse, but again it does not bother me at the very least, so long as I know that I am not alone when I see the countdown in a match and Sonic SpinDash Jumping onto the ring with that face that gives me assurance.

I am also very lucky to know the people I do. I would've given up so long ago had I not met people like Tenki or MalcolmM who could help me in times where I was blinded by depression/misery where I could not see the faults in my gameplay. Malcolm provides the motivation, and while he has a different way of doing things, I respect him for who he is. That person BTW took down M2K's Meta Knight in one round, which tells me that if I can get better, I will have no limit on possiblities, and so long as Tenki keeps coming around on occasion, and sharing his lulz/information, I can have a smile knowing a new joke has come up, perhaps a new experience on the side.

Hehe... I love coming on to this place, to know that everyday something new can get accomplished... such as this whole blog you just finished reading right now. Thank you for the time, and remember Sonic boards, we have Steak while the world trumbles onto their knees, begging for some of that epic A1'clustered piece o' (cake) meat.

Well man, you've come a long way. Still you've always been super awesome and cool as far as I'm concerned.

Just don't dwell on any bad times and reminisce on the good times, look on the bright side of the past.

Oh by the way, you forgot a certain : 093 : at the end of your post, teehee.

That's real sweet of you. I think you should all take the time to give shoutouts to your good friends here and to share to those who dont know you the many experiences you've been through. There are people that have absolutely nothing for this site. No kodak moments. No friends. And it is sad. Friends are possible on the interweb whether they realize it or not.

Want me to tell everybody how you went emo after your first tourney even though you still did better than half the entrants now Speed? :p

You're still a cool hedgedawg, though, and as long as your'e a Sonic boarder, you don't need me to remind you how awesome you are! :D

Yeah, I want to look ahead, nothing about the past I can change, but I can make sure how my future turns out.

pretty elaborate, but you mispelled experience on the title.
D'oh!

Forgive me, I think I'm dyslexic or something. I know how to spell but my fingers sometimes misplace words.

I dunno, it would take me way too long to recall every single person I've met on this site and give a specific shoutout.

However, the Sonic boarders always have my support.

Hahaha, well it is quite the monster to read.
