MW circuit stuff/questions

OK, please dont hurt me MW council, but with the first circuit comming to an end, i wanted to make a thread about the next circuit.

i wanted to raise quesion of, where they are going to be held(people throw out ideas!), around what dates, the rules and whatnot.

this is not a thread trying to meerly answer these questions, but rather a thread to speak ideas of all these things. also, if people had other questions, they could post them here and someone could answer them.

edit: Big C and Tink want to hold a circuit event at X-treme gamming. most people know of the place and were there for huge johns.

We have had a couple people ask about hosting events. Thanks for vounteering guys, we were actually thinking of asking you host one. It'd be awesome if the Circuit events weren't all hosted by Council members again!

For the record, we're going to try to start Season 2 in April. We'll try to allow at least 3 weeks between the Championship and the Season 2 premiere. It'd be nice to get back to our "first weekend of the month" schedule for consistency, but I suppose that doesn't matter too much.

If anyone has any questions/ideas about anything, feel free to post up.

Iowa is the pwnage. Iowa wud be awesome to hold circuit events. Cedar Falls And Keokuk. Awesome towns to hold circuit events. Come on fellow patriotic brethren. We should make a midwest circuit flag with lots of green because it's my favorite color. What you guys say?

well, we also should look at where we got the most people at and try to get more tournies in those areas. ohios tournies are usually big and smym's are big. i think the next championships should be at one of these.

also, i think chicago should be fairly big, since we actually have a strong group of people over here. hence us wanted to do a tourny up here. notre dame sounds fun too :D.

...sorry, Im just tired of traveling north three plus hours for two years. Furthermore, St.Louis has quite a scene nowadays, and Im helping cultivate some sexy new talents! But I know Iowa and Nebraska and Kansas City wouldnt mind St.Louis to be one of the targets.

Your right....I wouldn't mind that much. But I still want keokuk to be a circuit location no matter what.

St. Louis would actually be fairly central. You guys should look into a venue.

Notre Dame, sadly, doesn't have (to my knowledge) a place to rent out for public events. Plus the parking can be confusing... If we have one up this way, we might as well do the Portage store.

Tink/Big C, that place was kinda small. Did it handle HJ okay? Would it handle 100+ people?

hmmm....100 people might be alot to fit there, but i also dont expect to get that much, seeing as how, no other event went over like 90. HJ was actually fine, kinda cramped with trying to watch matches happend, but we got like 20 tvs there <_<.

HJ's was fine for the number of people there. i should know i drew the pools(who knew than Anthony A. and cunning were the same person) 100 people we may have to play in the parking lot of the place. and i would not be drawing pools for that

I never saw your post, but had I Im sure I would have done something about it. (That, or Im losing my mind)

But I will talk with Muba and see what we can do about setting up a venue for said thing. St.Louis would love to host an event!

6 hour drive > 12 hour drive

Yeah, but St. Louis is a 10-hour drive for many people in Michigan. It's tough planning these because someone is always far away from the event. It really is best to keep these events in central IN or eastern IL, as biased as that sounds coming from someone in Indiana ^_^;;

I'd be a bit nervous about hosting an event at the Portage store. Would they let us completely take over the entire place? I think I remember there being a computer area in the back, unless I'm thinking of somewhere else, which I think I am.

I want to hold a circuit event!

I have an awesome place!! They have 2 cubes and 7 tv's. Obviously I'm going to need more but they allready have 7 tv's for starters. That's seven less that I need to worry about. They got great color. And has Plenty of space. Can easily support 100+ people and has a nice parking lot too. Parking is also available in the street. I can use the building any time I want to host a tourney.

And no, nothing official yet. I was just telling St. Louis that if they're really interested that they should find a venue and let us know if they can do it. Same goes for Michigan, and anyone that is interested.

We'll likely be doing 3 events before the Championship this time around. It's unfortunate that it's so short, but getting such a late start kinda hurts our ability to have a longer season. Our goal is to have 5 month seasons, and we should be able to do that for a Season 3 (if it's somehow still going on by then).

Either way, the fall Championships should be in December, with the spring bringing in a new season, unlike how this one panned out.

its a nine hour drive if we dont get lost and follow the speed limit but when we get lost cuz we listened to dope saying it was that exit probably a 15 to 16 hour drive

i also remember that is where BIG C left me to do pools and then went to KFC

10 hours is the exact reason I never go to michigan! But the difference here is that there are always tournies up there, whereas there are hardly ever any tournies in St.Louis. There hasnt been a huge tourny in St.Louis since MLG St.Louis.

We can find a venue most likely. Just remember that the st.louis people have gone to indiana and its surrounding areas countless times.

i feel ya squared, and to be honest we never really expect anything to come further west because its our own fault for being in the awful state of nebraska lol... plus we're not the big players of the Midwest or anything so we dont have a say in anything.

but i mean... if you're thinkin of big players... think of darkrain and his crew. they're just 3 hours south of us, and they have to make many of the insane drives as well, so i'm sure he'd love to rep his state in Missouri, much like Dope would like to rep Michigan, or you guys for indiana. To be honest though I don't really care as long as the weather becomes nicer, the drive to FoB was like 15 degrees in a bus for like 10 hours we could have died :'( lol
