I think both of today's themes are fairly good. Both are definitely done in an almost operatic form; the focus isn't on melody so much as the journey to and from the melody. So, it's kind of difficult to enjoy a one-minute clip.
"Id Purpose" is kind of like that; it has a central cadence and recurring melody, but there isn't just one crescendo. Rather, there are several climactic parts.
Sometimes orchestral themes in games can be pretty bland and boring, and sometimes they're astounding. Bit too early to make that call on those two songs, for me.

I like the Saxophone part on the Mario one, right near the end.
The Tomodachi song is great. I never played that game... It sounds kind of like some of the Pictochat music, except it has that cool retro flute/piccolo sample they used in the cloud world in Super Mario RPG
