Kind of the point, the question (assuming it's about brstms and not flat out swapping the in-game music) isnt affected by online play. Because of that it stands to reason that either the question is pointless or about swapping the in-game music.

There are codes that make songs of your choosing play in a match if you hold certain buttons in the waiting room while the match is loading.
You CANNOT just use UTD Zac's music swapping program to play swapped music online, because the game will freeze if you try to connect to somebody who hasn't swapped theirs. The only way to hear different music is to use the button holding codes.

This is what I'm using (I think it's like the same thing but this is the hold button version)
You can add multiple ones at once, so you can have, for example, a different song for each of the 4 directions on the d-pad, plus 2 more for the shoulder buttons. You can also do combinations by adding the button values together, like right+L, up+L, R+Y, etc. Re-add the codes as many times as you want for different songs and different buttons.
