I don't think that's as big a deal as you think it is.
I mean, it is pretty awkward that every other nomination garnered at least SOME cheers when their name was announced, only for Multiversus and only Multiversus to be met with complete silence. It's not a good look either way.

But frankly the public goodwill the game had burned away long ago. The game isn't gaining new players: at this point it just has the ones it already had, as those continue to dwindle.

In lighter news, the second volume of the soundtrack was officially released.

It contains the stage themes for Steven Universe, Space Jam, Game of Thrones and all stage themes released in the full release (minus Samurai Jack, Candy Kingdom, and future stages. Edit: WB Lot theme is also not included as that was in volume 1 in 2022) along with new remixes of the Steven Universe and Game of Thrones themes.

The new remixes are on the Watertower Music Youtube channel. All other songs are on the Multiversus Youtube and Watertower Music Youtube.

Edit 2: The platfight tournament will be shieldless. But hey, attendees can play as Marceline!

Marceline seems to be available in the Platfight tournament version. I don't know if she's actually allowed to be played tho

Almost time before the next Into the Verse. This will be where Marceline’s trailer will be shown.

Also, the Platfight Twitch drops are live until this Friday. These are T-Shirts for Batman, Garnet, and Harley.

At this point I really only play two times a week, mostly because I can take out all of my cumulative dailies and weeklies in one or two sessions.

I didn’t even notice shields were actually in the game until I accidentally pulled one out. And nobody I fought has ever used theirs so far :drshrug: Maybe it’s cus I’m low rank?

I'm gonna be honest I don't get the Marceline hype, gameplay doesn't look as crazy as people made her out to be
Honestly the thing that confuses me is that they're referring to the down attack as "entering Bass Stance," but, and maybe it's the way it was presented, but it doesn't...look like a stance change? It definitely feels like a misnomer. Beyond that she just seems to be a combo-heavy Bruiser with the biggest takeaway being that she has more built-in combo routes than most other Bruisers. And then her wind tunnel perk, which is admittedly really cool.

And just to mention, sure, they really aren't good, but they are Elusive, meaning they give more Prestige than Uncommon skins. So you get 2880 Prestige compared to 900.

I think she looks fine, but I also don't quite get why she was that requested. I really wish they just continued to add more different franchise even from Cartoon Network. Especially because it feels that the game could shutdown at any moment now, it would a bit of a missed opportunity if the final roster end up not having classic characters like Flintstones or Courage the cowardly dog for example.

It definitely is a stance change by the standards of other fighting games. It’s pretty rare for platform fighters to have this type of stance change where you very briefly have access to many different moves that aren’t available outside the stance but it isn’t a separate “character” you can play as.

I’m currently listening to the interview with one of the staff members while typing this and he said that bass stance has 3 exclusive normals and 3 exclusive specials.

I just need them to up the number of prestige items they add. I'm still sitting on mine because they've yet to release anything I actually want.

Yeah I noticed it more during the combat developer interview. I think it was just a case of the presentation not making it exactly clear which moves used the stance change. After hearing it more in depth it makes more sense lol.

Since it'll be about fifty days until the start of season five, I figured I'd share the moveset I just finished today for Willy Wonka to help pass the time. You can find it (alongside the other sixteen movesets I've made) here.

I don't mean to sound like a downer but as much as I love Multiversus and want the game to thrive I am also preparing for the worst. I feel like the game is going to shut down next year. They could turn things around but I won't get my hopes up. When the shut down does inevitably happen I'm gonna avoid social media for a bit. I don't want to deal with annoying Smash purists who think that all platform fighters are just clones and thus use Multiversus as "proof" that the platform fighting genre shouldn't exist.

My biggest wish is that if the game shuts down that there will still be a way to play it afterwards. Maybe an offline deluxe edition? Honestly I feel like that's something that most live service games should do anyway besides letting all that work become lost media.

Definitely there should be an offline version. Especially as more games enter goodbye mode (such as mobile game Disney Mirrorverse, which shut down today, leaving many awesome designs go to waste (goodbye Alice the Magical Girl and Kermit the Bard)).

Nah I totally get you. I don't think it's being a downer to see the unfortunate writing on the wall. I would personally be very surprised if the game makes it to season seven. Season five seems like a sure bet and I think six is also very much in the cards based on the amount of things we know are finished/very far along, but beyond that I'm not holding my breath. At this point my biggest hope is just that we get the Wicked Witch and Scooby before the inevitable shutdown.

That being said, Suicide Squad getting an offline version after its final content update does give me hope that they'll do the same for Multiversus. So that's at least somewhat comforting.

If we don’t get Wicked Witch before the game goes away again, I’ll be unhappy. Especially since she’s effectively my most wanted.

I'm not as worried as I probably should be, but I'd be even less worried if the big bad Z-Man himself didn't come out and publicly trash MVS for losing them money (which isn't even the game's fault, they bought the dev out because... because.)

This guy just cancelled Sesame Street. Nothing is sacred to him.

Beta Season 2 flashbacks…
Saw two theories as to why:

1. Holiday break, similar to what other devs do.
2. Pushing something less finished forward thus requiring more time.
Perhaps a third character in season 5 and that would be Daffy Duck for cross promotion The Day the Earth Blew Up

Once again, the film is not even produced by WB, so no, promotion isn't a reason to do Daffy
And even if it somehow had an influence on when he would be released, it's still Daffy freaking Duck

He's one of the most iconic cartoon characters period so marketing a movie would be out of convenience rather than "oh, having something relevant is the only way we can do this"

So there IS probably a way to save this game, if we're not too late to do so. It's a simple solution, but not one you guys are going to like to hear.

We gotta spend money on it.

It sucks, but that's literally all that can be done to keep live service games alive, and it's literally all the serial killer head honchos at Discovery care about.

This isn't a call to arms, you don't HAVE to. I know that money is tight right now, it's gift shopping season, and that the idea of giving any money to WBD doesn't sound remotely appealing, but if you care about this game and have a few disposable bucks to spare, buy yourself a skin or something. It's the only way this game is going to make it to next December.

WB DID make it, they're not DISTRIBUTING it.

Nothing good in the shop to spend money on. It really gambles on you being a big enough fan of the character or franchise to spend money. It doesn’t help that things like Banners and Ringouts are so stupidly expensive there is nothing in the world that could convince me to shell out cash just for them.
