Midnight release

I am sorry if there is already a thread about this or if it is old news(I never saw any here)

I just reserved brawl yesterday and the person said blah blah blah feburary then he said that they will have a midnight release. I don't know if that is trustworthy but still I just wan't to say that.

I would put it in the realm of probably to almost definitely. It's based on the number of preorders, and Brawl has tons.

Based on preorders so it will probably vary from store to store. I could see it happening with most stores though.

Well, remember, if the store is open 24/7 you can always make your own midnight release, make sure to sing a lot of songs at people buying things.

But I think you mean a special event? Well, I don't think many of the stores around here will, but that store you said had 1000 preorders will probably have one. Especially since that large store is probably open 24/7 anyways, so it is not inconvenience.

I agree, I think that waiting in a line with people who share interests is really fun. Its fun to know that people there have the same interests as you, although they may not be like you in any way except that. If they don't have one, make sure you buy it as soon as possible, you may be able to meet someone you may have never knew played smash, and maybe introduce them to the competitive side of the game if they have never heard of it.

Yeah.. some of us get the game a day or 2 after the release date... I don't think us guys on the West Coast will get it at the exact release date..

Super Smash Bros. Brawl does have the potential to see a midnight release, it just depends if the game is street dated.

When a game is ship dated, that is the day the game is going to be sent out by the companies. If it's street dated, it's the day the game is going to be sold. I know that my local EB Games/Gamestop has Brawl street dated, so it's very likely that Brawl will see a midnight release.

Usually Gamestops do the midnight releases, so jsut tell all of your friends to preorder it and you will be fine.

If it doesn't, then go to sleep early, and wake up at 6 to go pick it up(unless it opens late... Sunday FTL_

The EBGames at the Providence Place Mall is having a Midnight release. The mall main doors are always open, so occasionally stores here do sh*t like that. Also, people tend to sleep in the mall if their waiting for something...I poke them with sticks, they twitch, I run off before they wake up.

I pre ordered from costco for less than 50. I know I won't be getting it as soon as I could, but it will be better if I got it towards the end of Feb because I have school vacation.

We aren't planning a midnight release, and it really isn't likely that there's going to be one. Your best bet is to poke around Walmart (since it's open 24/7) and ask if they will be selling it at midnight.

I really, really doubt that Brawl will have a midnight release anywhere. Your friend is misinformed, individual stores don't decide to have a midnight release or not, corporate does. Smash doesn't seem like the type of thing that they would MR (it's usually hella hyped stuff like Halo 3 and WoW). Seriously though, just wait until 10 in the morning, drive down there, take monday off, and enjoy.

i would beat the **** out of you if you poked me with a stick, neways i am all for the idea of a midnight release, but im having trouble seeing it happening. they didnt do it for galaxy around here.... only place i kno they did was at nintendo world new york.
