Not sure but this, might actually be wrong section, but since im Jeremy Feifer b****, you should enjoy yourselves.

Anyway, you guys know how they did the whole "we sale halo 3's at midnight" thing?

I was wondering a couple things...:

#1, you think stores o'll do that whole stay open till midnight thing?

#2, if so which stores....?

#3, how would you find out if the stores planning to stay open at midnight?/when would a store find out...? a month early...? 2 months?... etc?

Thanx everyone.

#1: Perhaps...

#2: Speciality Game Vendors only... and maybe Wal-Mart

#3: Ask the clerks?

In your house!
Maybe in a 24 hour Walmart. Nintendo's to reserved to flaunt themselves like that.
We should have a midnight (Eastern) tournament to celbrate the day after. Or something. I dunno, I just think that Wii ought to play...

It's funny you should ask this.

I went to Wal-Mart today to get to the bottom of this, because I want Brawl at midnight just like the rest of you.

I've got some good news and some bad news; Wal-Marts will be selling Brawl at midnight, but only the ones that are open 24 hours a day. They said that even if they don't have it out, just ask for it and they'll get it for me. They said that at 12:00 on Dec. 3rd, they can sell Brawl.

This particular Wal-Mart is right around the corner from my house, so I'll be playing Brawl from midnight on Dec. 3rd until...probably until sometime around Dec. 6th. :chuckle: 3 days straight of Smash? Yes please.

It might not even come to lines and getting there at midnight and stuff. Its a popular game, but its not that immensely popular.

I preordered my copy of Brawl at EB Games in the mall. They said if they have enough preorders they will have a midnight release.

I went to a local walmart a day after Halo 3 hype and there were tons of Halo 3 disks out. The hype hasn't been as great as I thought it was or Microsoft produce enough of them this time around.

game stop by my house said that they had to have 200 preorders for the game before they would even think about having a midnight release. and at that time (about two weeks ago) they didnt even have 75 preorders... so the chance of a midnight release at (at least in my area) doesnt look too good.

I would totally support the idea, maybe next time I go to EB Games I will ask.

Of course, my mom got confused, and now I have Brawl preordered at two different stores :p! Which one should i cancel?

-The More Reliable /Friendly/Better Area One
or
-The One that is WAY closer/not well known (aka more copies)/where I got my wii

I've paid Brawl off completely at GameStop. I was the first or second one to do it, which is a big deal because the GS manager paid theirs off before me..

This is why I didn't preorder Brawl.

First of all, it's going to be everywhere on Dec. 3rd. If you can't find Brawl on launch day, then lose faith in mankind.

Second, I didn't want to be tied down to a particular store or as some of you have already stated, mall. Malls don't open at midnight.

Thank God for 24 hour Wal-Marts!! It really was my saving grace because I want this game at midnight like whoa.

Think of us poor Cantonese.
True, we may get it before the Brits, but...we don't have anything equivalent to Wal-Mart.
Except that our 7-11s sell local MMORPGs.

I'd like to get it at midnight sure, but if I can get a good night's sleep before enjoying brawl that's fine too.

I mean, I won't be conscious for that period of time so it really doesn't make much of a difference, ya know?

Well anyway I don't think anyone should worry about not getting a copy. Halo 3 had a lot more hype than Brawl will have, and there's plenty of copies out there.

**** sleep.

Why sleep when you could be playing Brawl?
Because you need sleep to recharge your energy to do other things. Playing Brawl is one of them. I'm not getting that game at midnight since I need to get my sleep and it's on a school day. I just asked Gamestop for you guys and they said they're not doing a midnight release for Brawl.

Yeah, try playins Smash when you're all tired and crap? not good, not good.
I also heard that being angry decreases your performance.

I want to be in top-shape (ie: not tired) when i play the game.

I might swing by a Wal-Mart and pick it up at midnight, or get it the next day. I'm excited to get it, its just my whole life isn't gonna revolve around playing it ASAP.

Don't think because a Gamestop is in a mall means they won't stay open.

I went to a Gamestop located inside Southpoint Mall (small-ish store), and asked them if Brawl would have a midnight release. They guy was hesitant and said he didn't know yet, but the other employee was taking down Green and Black Balloons that said Halo 3 on them. The workers laughed and said that they had been their since Tuesday at Midnight.

So, ask ALL the stores, not just the ones outside malls! :p

Shouldn't matter. I reserved my copy of FF XII at the Gamestop in my local mall, and even though the mall closed at 10, you could still get in and grab the game from the Gamestop.

And yes, I think my neighborhood game stores will have a midnight release. Gamestop I'm pretty sure will have it, but EB might not. It's not as big as Gamestop is around here.

I work at a Wal-mart supercenter (open 24 hours) and i work on sundays until 10 so im just going to stay and wait for midnight.

Although it wouldn't hurt to ask them to get one out for me early :)

How about we all meet at Midnight and Brawl?

Wait... we can't. Darn Nintendo.

But, I can't attend anything. I already preordered it to be mailed to me. So, I'll be getting it... prolly, that Friday.

The Inuyasha thing was pretty funny. lol.

Even if I'm not getting it on the 3rd, I could care less. By then, I will know what I want to know by that day... reviews, who's in/out, and you guys' reactions.

It happened with da next generation systems, it could happen with Brawl.

lmao, I love how you just randomly brought that up.

Yeah, no midnight releases around my area. Which is Canada, Ontario. EB Games said the only game they were having a midnight release for was Halo 3, and as for Wal-Mart.. well.. I've never seen a 24 hour Wal-Mart but it's kinda cool to know that they're around.
