This is no rumor, nor announcement, but a Discussion on a Smash Bros. like title published by Microsoft or a studio under them, it is stated that it will not happen, well atleast anytime soon stated by Head of Microsoft Game studios Phil Spencer in this Interview by Stephen Totilo of Kotaku.com: link to interview here:

Also, since the original thread was locked in the Light House sub-forum, I'm posting it in here in the blog section, so this is kinda an extra to my weekly blog about whatever, anyway...


XBOX ICONS

The Possibility of Microsoft creating a Super Smash Bros. type title is now very slim, but nothings impossible, like when the announcement of Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale came to fruition, I never thought that IT would happen, but I never thought it to be impossible.


Out of the three consoles Xbox is most synonymous with fighter titles, from Tekken to Kung Fu Chaos to Street Fighter & everything in between.
Now Microsoft & Xbox haven't had the most memorable characters in the world, mostly because it is a young console in gaming, but it does have Stand outs like Marcus Fenix from Gears, or Banjo & Kazooie with Rare.

Of course people would rip on it for being a rip-off of Smash or even now All-Stars, but what's new? Microsoft & Sony have been stealing idea's since 1857.

When adding characters I drew from Exclusives, XBLA Characters, & 3rd Parties, including their stages as well.

What would be impliement into the game to make it different from Smash & All-Stars?

Who would they include? Stages?

What would it be called?

Ilo & Milo at the Park

GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay will be from a regular third person P.O.V like in Smash or All-Stars, where each of up to four characters will spawn at a area on the stage & will have to seek & individually take out their opponents the stages will not be too large to scape, but large enough to fuel a competitive chase if needed, some stages may be small, others maybe larger.
A style of combat, technique & weaponry will be implemented which is basically how Smash & All-Stars is set-up, after an opponent is KO'd they respawn somewhere else, this will make matches much longer than a standard Smash Bros match of 3 minutes.
The characters will have a health bar to reassure that no headshot or super powerful ability/weapon will instantly KO your character like in All-Stars regularly, some characters are an exception.

Characters will have a Special move, that will make the character powerful, but not invincible, they will have that power for maybe one minute, unless they are KO'd.
Stages will be 2D & 3D so if a character happens to fall off a stage, it will count as a death/KO depending on the situation.

Items will be spawned onto stages as well, some items will have Ammo like rifles & whatnot, other items will have max 3 uses. Will update with Item ideas when I get a chance.

Banjo & Kazooie in Nutty Acres

MOVES

All:
-All characters have Up, Down, Left/Right Dodge mechanics
-All characters can crouch & sneak around
-All characters have a meter that moves when in combat with foes, it falls when no contact is made between you & another, when the meter is filled either finisher may be used.

Standards:

Specials:
-ilomilo: Up: Flying Cube (elevates the two & hits anyone close by or hoovering above)
Down: Trapdoor (Leaves a space under ilomilo & anyone who steps over the space, falls through & is damaged & spit out)
Left/Right: Stretch Cube (Giant cube extends & hits anyone in mid or close range)

-Banjo & Kazooie: Up:
Down: Talon Trot (allows Kazooie to take control & moves faster than before)
Left/Right: Eggshot (Kazooie shoots eggs from her beak)

Dodges:
-ilomilo: Up: ilo & milo split up going around the foe
Down: Rolls out of the way & the sock puppet cube rises from the ground blocking the foes way to the two.
Left/Right: The two run seperate ways & rejoin each other.

-Banjo Kazooie: Up: Dodge Roll

FINISHERS:
-ilomilo: -F'1 - Both ilo & milo pluck an apple cube & summon the cube creature/creature cube & hop on it's back & roams the stage on it, ramming & devouring foes.
F'2 - The park band plays a tune & Sebastian the Huntsman flys in, you take control of him & fly around the stage throwing projectiles (cubes, discs, safka's...etc)

ITEMS

-MS PAPERCLIP/HELPER: Gives you a list of options at random, pick one from the three & he will assist you in battle
[KO (Player 2, 3, or 4) Instantly, KO all foes, Instant Meter fill, New Item, Reload (reloads or returns previous item), Locate Player (1, 2, or 3), Locate all, Teleport to foe (Player 2, 3, or 4,), Halve player 2, 3 or 4's health, Halve all Health.

-Viva Pinatas': Random Pinata appears & performs a task
[Horstachio, Twingersnaps, Fizzlybear, Lickatoad, Pretztail, Fudgehog, Elephanilla, & Galagoogoo]

-Sniper n' Scope (A Semi-automatic rifle which allows you to zoom & fire at any ranged opponents)

-Energy Sword(Halo)

-Grenades

-Minecraft pickaxe

-Xbox Controller (Control any character other than yourself for 30-60 seconds, your character although will be vulnerable at the time you control another)

But I would buy it if one of the stages were minesweeper themed.

Also the final boss of adventure mode should be Internet Explorer.

It would just freeze up & end up restarting, Google Chrome is an overall better boss

You'd need to work for the best universal final smash: Ctrl + Alt + Del, although now I guess it would be Ctrl + Shift + Escape but everyone knows post XP OS's don't count as legitimate.

Also don't forget the assist trophies in Zone Alarm and Malwarebytes!

Definitely need those when IE is about.

That means they probably SHOULDN'T have a Microsoft Smash bros. Nintendo does it the best. Sony does it OKAY/MEH, and Micro would do it poorly.

Still pondering on whether I should add Fable, but the hero is customizable in the game, so It'd be a drag picking a solid character as the game's mascot..
I really tried to not add more than one character from each 1st party so that's why I didn't add Raam or Arbitars
