MI - Saline \ Ann Arbor Smashfest! Friday, August 3!!!

Hello everyone, my name is Greg. I’m a long time lurkers on the boards, never quite participated in anything. I looked online to find some people to play with casually, and I figured that this would be the best opportunity to get involved in the smash community.

Anyways, I would like to get some people in saline to smash this Friday. I was thinking opening up at 6, and doing a singles tourney at 9. A 5 dollar entry fee will cover the tourney with 60\30\10% going to the winners.

I have 2 tv’s, wii, and cube, but would appreciate more equipment.

If there is interest\enough people, I’d like to turn it into a weekly thing. I’m open to do this event any weekday after 5\on the weekends.





UPDATE (sort of)

I am pretty sure we are going to stick with Friday, starting at 6. Everyone seems like they can make that (besides Scotu) besides a few, who make it sound liek they would be missing Sunday as well.

Do you guys wanna have a tourney? I have no idea how many people to expect. I know that I'm going to need some cubes. I have a 32" tv, and a 19" lcd at my place.

Definately going to need chairs\cubes\smash\memory cards. My second gamecube dissapeared.

Just a few small notes:

1) Don't park in covered parking. There are tons of parking spots, but you can't park under a canopy, you'll get towed.

2) riveroaks drive is freaking impossible to find. Once on michigan ave, you have to turn left onto riveroaks drive. The road is around a subway\bp\party store, and before a bakery.

You don't have to run a tourney if you don't want to, but some ppl would prefer one. I myself can't make this on a weekday, (my sundays are still free). Advice for running a tourney: get tio.

I think the biggest concern right now is chairs. I got like 11 chairs + sittable totes, thats it.

I will be visiting greggorob today for some quick friendlies, since it's about 20 minutes away from where I work. If anybody else has a similar idea, this will begin around 5 PM... bring a memory card, if you can.

Randy: I believe I will be at home tomorrow, meaning I will go there from Troy. If you and Anther want one, I will provide a ride. If I can go. Hopefully.

We can smash till whenev, I have noting goin on Sat. As long as my neighbors dont get pissy, which hasn't happened yet.

We gotta cut it short at like 630 though, 7 at the latest.

ok so i just read the first post, don't think i'm going to be able to go because i usually am doing other things around 9 but we'll see it'd be nice to start the tourney at like earlyish though.

maybe you could open at like 3 and start the tourney at 4 but i mean i have to go to work and **** early in the day could get off at like 2pm? and then maybe i could go but i dunno... 9pm is reserved for other activities im a midafternoon smash kinda guy but i guess thats just me

just go for the smashfest and hang out with people. the tourney is just a second reason.

I think he gets off work around 5, that's why it has such a late start time most likely Sheepy. I mean, if hooking up with hot chicks and generally making the ladies happy while smoking the ganja is more important to you, then eff you and your lifestyle sheepy.
