i know there is alot of discussion about which metroid character should make it in, and ther are alot of seperate character forums bigging up each character but this forums puts all thelikely characters in to a ring and you have to fight for their right to be in brawl

tell me which character you want in and why

ridley?

dark samus?

space pirate?

kraid?

hunters?

Dark Samus AND Ridley. Metroid needs 4 characters. Zelda had 4 characters, and Metroid's just as much of the staple Nintendo diet.

There's only one REAL choice for a Metroid char, and that's Ridley. Metroid only has one character as it is.

Why Weavel? He was the general of the space pirates on Brinstar.. and was nearly killed by Samus. The space pirates rebuilt him into a cyborg.. His moveset would be very unique because of his Battle Hammer attack and turret form. Even though he isn't considered a major character to the Metroid franchise.. I don't see that as a reason why he shouldn't be.

Why Dark Samus? Dark Samus has returned a 2nd time in Prime 3. People may say she would have a clone moveset of Samus.. but that is not exactly true. Her moveset can involve greater speed and stronger slower attacks. Her final smash can also be completely different.

Although yes, you're correct and Dark Samus is genderless Metroid Prime(who now is Dark Samus) was always referred as he, thus Dark Samus=He.

And Sorry gypsy, but Dark Samus is not a Filler he is the main villain of the Prime Series.

Dark Samus isn't generic.
You all call it a clone, but it's not.
It's not a clone of Samus, it's not a Dark Version of Samus. It's not Samus in any way, shape, or form.
It's Samus' Phazon Suit that's been possessed by Metroid Prime.
Thus, there is no real reason why it can have its own moveset.

I know what 'it' is. And in the games, it was referred to as a 'she' because it took the form of Samus who is a female. When it was still a Metroid, it was referred to as an 'it' or a 'he' because the word 'he' can be used much more loosely and in general than the word 'she'. 'He' doesn't always imply that the thing you're referring to is male.

Also, just because you're the main villain, doesn't prevent you from generic, uncreative, and overall, lacking as a character. It's perfect AT material. Just because it isn't a clone (which I don't mind BTW) doesn't mean someone who hasn't played the games or has absolutely no idea who or what the character is will think the same. Most people will go "OZMGS NOTS ANODER SAMSU!!!" Ridley would be much better, and no one else after him should be PCs. They just aren't worthy of the spot, no matter how much rep Metroid deserves. Better characters that offer more to the game should make it in well before DS or any hunter.

Now tell me, what does Dark Samus offer to this game that others don't already do? It has to have at least that going for it, considering it's as far from popular globally as you can get. And a dragon always coming back isn't a cliche BTW.

FTR: It doesn't matter if Dark Samus is her own character, she still looks exactly like Samus and uses the same basic attacks.

One more thing, Gypsy: Dark Samus isn't PURELY Metroid Prime possessing Samus's Phazon Suit; Her scan data shows a body underneath the armor, and it's clearly female. Except she has no right hand; It's just a hole for the arm cannon. Metroid Prime took up the appearance of a girl, not just her armor.

Ridley only please. Dark Samus is really cool I know and is integral to the plot of the Prime series yeah, but thats about it. It's just a mindless giant freakin Metroid that smartens up (becoming not so mindless ) and feels like coming back for seconds and thirds to piss Samus off.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against it/her/him/whatever, but I don't want to see character slots, that could be used for representing other (not represented previously) franchises (or better characters) getting used on characters like Dark Samus.

However if this essentially maximises the roster, rather than taking away a slot on the roster from another character, then yeah definitely.

Space Pirates and Kraid should make an appearance, NOT as PCs though.

How can you notice if D.S is a female by watching "its" interior? it's just bones and fleshy stuff, it ha- meh whatever, i like to call him a he.

And what can he bring to the table, that is new? nothing really. But it doesn't have the same basic attacks as Samuss.

Space Pirates I would like to see as generic Subspace enemies or maybe AT's

As for the Hunters, the only ones I really liked were Sylux and Kanden so if either ended up playable or at least as AT's I'd be happy.

I love Sylux.

Maybe that's because my *** of a younger brother always chooses trace in hunters, and deathmatches always boil down to me shocking him to death whilst avoiding headshots. That, and electricity is needed in Brawl.

I see Ridley as a great boss for SE, partly because of his size. Screw that, I guarantee he will be a boss. But playable? We'll have to wait and see.

He's certainly made a massive impact on SSBB already. There were huge amounts of 'PETEY CAN STILL BE PLAYABLE' (¬¬) topics on gamefaqs even after it was revealed he's about eight times larger than Peach. People really want him to be confirmed.

I just hope that's because they actualy DO, and are not just jumping on the bandwagon.
