Local Scene?
dude, I am in the same Local Scene as you (Montreal).
I won't speak for anyone of course, but I am fairly certain that Smash For Fun 2 will be the last big Melee tournament. (That's if you can even call it "big" compared to tournaments hosted in the states, where they have 100+ people, we barely hit 30 players). Bi-Weeklies will probably be transformed into Brawl specific, or be terminated completely until the Brawl meta game starts to form.
and yes, of course Melee will still be enjoyed after Brawl is released.... but then again, so is Super Smash Bros. 64, but how many tournaments and local smash fests are held for that?
Like I said in my first post (which you seem to have completely ignored); Playing Brawl has nothing to do with abandoning Melee, It has to do with continuing it's legacy. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is just that... SUPER SMASH BROS. It's not a different game, it's made by the same developers, who have the same mind set, and want to bring the same joy they did to players as they did with melee
and by the way, just for your cockiness; I'll enjoy my stickers
as well as my expanded roster, totally new and innovative gameplay, online mode, brand new single-player features, subspace emissary, a whole slew of new items, cameo appearances from franchises all over the nintendo world, tons of new and innovative stage designs which again span across the many different franchises, brand new metagame for pros, larger audience of players, beautifully orchestrated music, (even though I don't care for) new items and pokeballs, as well as brand new assist trophies which have never been seen before, many more and new trophies, and MUCH, MUCH, MUCH MORE
See you at SFF2
