Maryland Vs Virginia - B Team line ups: Feb. 3 @ C3

im making a list of 15 or so for the VA A team, and 10 + 3 alternates will be used. if you want, i can make a list up to 25 or so of my opinion. i feel bad ranking everyone in the area by skill, its usually not my style but for the sake of this i will do it. Then, the day of the tourney, the top 10 + 3 that are present at the tourney, will be taken. then, the next 10 or so can be used for the B team. i can confer with Masa and chozen and such, because my judge of talent is OK but ive probably only seen many of you play once or twice, whereas masa/chozen will have more knowledge.
EDIT: btw for your info, they arent just MY opinion, im also checking old tourney threads for results and such.

If I'll get up there I'll hop on the B-team as the bottom end scrub who never gets picked. If I make it up to Catonsville I'll try to prove myself worthy by beating Aho in Yoshi dittos if he's there :D

I expect alot of people to be missing and Ricky would probably be one of them if I somehow can't make it. If I do come (work abiding) then there should be a smashfest down in Prince William or something. Some old school AC vs H2YL, cause we're grimey like that. Get this B team Jakkd.

xD Well, I've somehow manage to be pushed out of the top 15 for the VA A team. Apparently, I'm ranked under a fox player that has never once beaten me. o.O A shame. Anyway, I guess that means you can put me on the VA B team. =D

im really sorry cyrain, its just that you are relatively new and everyone may not have an accurate opinion of your talent. it wouldnt be fair to deny the people who have been around the smash scene for years, and/or have had consistent high placings over a long period of time. im really sorry.
No reason to do a direct compare with Perry, it's not about who's better than who, and you know that. =)

o.O Are you implying that it's a popularity contest, Redd? If I can beat the player and place better than him at tournaments, wouldn't that mean that I am more skilled than him? o.O Don't get me wrong, it's cool. I'm not trying to start a fight with anyone. its not so much a factor of seniority/popularity. lets say that player A has been playing competitively for 2 years, and has played everyone a lot and has lots of experience and consistently places. meanwhile, player B comes on the scene, beats player A twice, and places higher than him at two tournies. while player B may have more skill, it would just be unfair to say that player B is better after just coming on the scene, and having two good tournies. player A may have had bad days, and all his 2 years of experience would then be worth nothing. thats kinda how my reasoning has worked. its not so much popularity and seniority, but experience.Wait, what? Yeah I could've explained it better lol my bad. Read what G-reg said, experience matters. Skilled does play a role, but also matchups and knowledge.

also, if it means anything, i have a really hard time judging talent after the top 12 or so, as most people after that arent as consistent as the top 12. placings can bounce around after that, so its pretty tough. im sure anyone from ranks 13-20 could all beat eachother, at any given time. theres really no definite "better" smasher. i mean, there is, but not enough to make a definite decision among them.
also, in reality, the 13-15 spots have an extremely slim chance of even playing in the crew battle, so it really shouldnt matter too too much

Yup. I can't really argue with it, but I understand that it's the higher ranking player's decisions that count. I do, however, strongly disagree with the decision that was made. xD Good **** though...I guess I'll look forward to helping destroy the MD B team

Lmao @ Plairnkk. The only chance MD has of winning is if Neo shows. And even if he does, I'm sure you'll still lose. if all the people I expect to show for the VA A team end up there, MD is gonna get *****.
