Hi!

Just to let you know, I'm new to these forums, and I'll be putting my Wii/Brawl codes up soon if anyone would like to play.

Onto my main topic, however...

I'd just like to ask other Marth players like yourselves which characters you find most difficult to fight against, or your 'bogey opponents'. Everyone knows a skilled Marth can dominate most slow characters, like Ganondorf, Bowser and Dedede, but I have genuine troubles fighting fast characters, particularly Fox and Falco. Compared to Sonic, Fox isn't as fast by movement, but his attacks, particularly his smashes are too fast and have such little wind down time, I don't get an opening to hit.

Anyone agree with me? If so, could you give me a few tips on fighting them? I'd also like it if people discussed their toughest opponents to fight. Thanks.

Yeah, G&W has been improves alot since Melee, as have Kirby and Pikachu, all I EVER SEE on wifi battles with Pikachus is them spamming Thunder. Snake is a tough game aswell.

My alt characters include Link (my main in SSB and SSBM, til' I switched to Marth for speed) and Wolf.

I think a good marth should be able to handle a falco since he doesn't have the wavedashing advantage he had in melee, but i may be mistaken since it's just my experience. DDD doesn't seem like he should be hard to fight even with his chain grabs. Pikachu is sorta annoying tho with is down smash and thunder. Pit is just a pain to get close to and kiil since he can fly. ROB also is a problem because of his laser, top, and down smash.

Game and Watch. I've played against two different G&W's, both with a completely different style, and both were tough to deal with. uAir is annoying, as is dAir when you haven't learned how large the hitbox is and how good it is against Marths hiding under platforms.

A very good ROB could be problematic. My best friend mains D3, so he's not too much of an issue for me, as I've loads of practice against him. A really good Kirby is annoying to follow up on and Edgeguard, though to a huge issue. I haven't fought good enough MKs to find them problematic. Snake has never been an issue for me.

All the spacies are pushover matchups for me. Easy victories.

Diddy Kong is annoying, as well as Pit.

I find R.O.B. is easy to take in the air, as your Aerials out-prioritize his.

Pikachu is my hardest opponent as I cannot short hop over his Jolts.
D3 doesn't give me as much trouble as I just Ftilt away his Waddles as I walk towards him.
Pit is easy for me since I secondary him, so I know his moves. When he's above you UTilt. When he's recovering, Fair works. If he's trying to sneak under using his Up + B, drop down and stage spike him with Bair.
G&W is hard with his insane recovery, also, steer clear of his Fsmash.

Hope this helps,
(Yes I know I'm new joiner, low post count)

Thanks for the idea of stage spiking Pit. I think G&W can be handled with more dancing blade combos and countering his torch and downsmash spam. Also, break his shield and he's done.:)

Interesting to see a lot of R.O.B troubles.

Rob certainly is a bit different from the other characters due to his physical shape, and he's a fairly heavy character. You won't have much luck edge-guarding him either since his up-B can be used in small bursts and will probably damage you if you try and spike him.

G&W aswell, he's small, which means we will have trouble using aerials against him and his smash attacks are powerful; I also find his dAir move annoying.

mmm well i dunno if i can say "hardest" but annoying char's are pika, and sonic, anyone else isnt that bad.. if your good and know the char's moves then id say your good to go :p just cant use the same playing styles on ever char you face.. need to adapt to how they play and the char's abilities :]

IMO a good MK with fast reflexes can be a really big pain. I also found that Pit can be really hard if you dont keep pressing on the attack...
