I have seen a commercial for Smash Wii U on Comedy Central before back at Thanksgiving, but that was it. I wouldn't be too surprised that discontinuing some of their Amiibos is another one of Nintendo's stunts to not promote the Wii U all that much while giving it a bad name. :/Nintendo, do you even want people to support the wii U? You're not trying hard enough. Furthermore, why the hell did you have new CG commercials made for OLD 3DS GAMES!? MAKE SOME WII U COMMERCIALS, SERIOUSLY
If they are retailer exclusives, wouldn't those retailers make special space for them, because it is the only place to get them?Shulk, Meta Knight, and Lucario are retailer exclusive (Gamestop, Best Buy, and Toys r Us (U.S. only, no idea what equivalent for other regions would be)
I was really under the impression that the discontinuation was due to possible manufacturer issues, something like a recall to make sure the models were up to snuff (since we've seen a variety of defects upon release as it is.) rather than Nintendo discontinuing the line in an attempt to urge more sales. If that was the case, the entire initial line would have been in jeopardy.
In addition, you have to remember that stores stock things based on demand. Link was the most demanded Amiibo, having sold out before the things were released a few months ago. As popular as these three characters are, it could be possible that, universally they weren't in as high demand as the others, and therefore stores cut back their resupply for the sake of making room for more popular products.
I'm still going to get that Marth Amiibo, just in case, and it would be pretty sweet as a collectors item, but I don't think it's worth putting much stock in this sort of thing until Nintendo makes an official statement themselves.
Edit:
Then a wild @Nekoo appeared and shared a thread to let us know it's just a stock issue, at least in regards to the adapters.
Rosalina is actually gonna be rare.Luigi, Zelda, Pit, Toon Link, Bowser, Sonic, and Rosalina are the only ones that I think are definitely in the clear.
Amazon.co.uk is doing ALL the amiibos in the UK. No exclusive nonsense this side of the pond.Rosalina is actually gonna be rare.
All of the Wave 3 and 4 Amiibos are up for pre-order already on Amazon - except for Shulk, Meta Knight, Lucario, and Rosalina.
Shulk is GameStop exclusive, Meta Knight is Best Buy exclusive, Lucario is Toys R Us exclusive - so Rosalina is gonna be exclusive to one particular retailer too. People are speculating she will be Target exclusive.

Also, does anybody know how Europe is handling exclusive Amiibos? If for whatever reason I cannot get the Rosalina Amiibo here, a friend of mine in New York is willing to buy one for me and I give him the money back.
I was just looking at Amazon UK just now and the prices are oddly varied.Amazon.co.uk is doing ALL the amiibos in the UK. No exclusive nonsense this side of the pond.
Edit: Although there is a lot or skyrocketing price BS at the moment, so that's a factor.
Yeah; Wave 2 was available for pre-order before this occurred so their prices have remained steady.I was just looking at Amazon UK just now and the prices are oddly varied.
Rosalina is £13.99.
Link is about £16.
Luigi and Captain Falcon are just above £10.
What is stupid is the people who trust some random video game store before JUST WAIT and BE PATIENT for an official annonce .This is a stupid marketing decision.
How are you supposed to make a profit if you take it off the shelves? People are making triple the money you would've made by buying them at the original price early.
When people who work in retail say that the store isn't ordering any more of them, then yes, it's reason to worry. What is stupid is the people who trust some random video game store before JUST WAIT and BE PATIENT for an official annonce .
Like how they looked in the prototype stage? That would be excellent.Maybe they will re-release them with an updated look
It is a cause for concern, but I don't think it means anything big just yet. It could easily be a case that Nintendo simply has not been in contact with them yet. When people who work in retail say that the store isn't ordering any more of them, then yes, it's reason to worry.
Wasn't a shop who say " NO GAMECUB CONTROL K BYE "When people who work in retail say that the store isn't ordering any more of them, then yes, it's reason to worry.
The issue was that it was more than one retai.. And IIRC, it was a different place that claimed the controller issue. I'm just saying to err on the side of caution.Wasn't a shop who say " NO GAMECUB CONTROL K BYE "
And then i have the prove who conter it . Director Of Nintendo France . He say it was just a stock issue . They wasn't ready for the popularity Of the controller , maybe it's the same for the Amiibo . Go see the thread i Make with official sources before blindly trust some Bull**** retail
