Yes, I am a new user here with the sole reason of posting this piece of information and inform all of you, that one of the top tier characters in SSBM, Marth, is actually GOING TO BE IN SSBB!

Here is a small picture of Marth:

The rest of the screenshots:

http://www.onlineplayer.jp/modules/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=albus93

This website confirms that Marth's game will have a remake for the DS, and the screenshots are seen inside there. He might even have new additions and powers, although not much is known about this game at this point. He will probably have a new design, as you can see from the screenshots.

What do you tournament players think? Talk about it right here.

I'm sorry, but this doesn't confirm Marth to be in SSBB at all...

I am totally sure that a character that was in a previous game isn't going to return just because he has a new game. Yeah, totally. Then why was Roy in SSBM?

It does confirm that the next Fire Emblem on the DS will be kickass though.

Lol. That much is true, at the very least.

Just because we see screens of Marth in another game (one that is a remake, no less) does not mean he is going to be making some kind of triumphant return to the Melee scene.

If you honestly believe Marth WON'T return, you should have your eyesight taken away, simply for being so blind already.

Use the search function of this forum next time. There is a thread like this already.

Just to answer your question, I already know Marth will show up. He better show up or there will be problems.

Your 'speculation' is different from a 'confirmation'. You can speculate that Marth will be in SSBB, but no 'confirmation' will happen until he gets a profile on the Dojo.

Funny. It confirms squat.

Marth being in SSBB is kinda contradicted by the fact that Sakurai stated they were getting rid of clones and Ike's been shown to have mostly the same move-set as Marth (all of his A-attacks I've seen so far + similar B-attacks).

Actually, Ike's special attacks are very different.

I don't see Ike as a clone of Marth in any way, or vice versa.

Ike doesn't he have Marth's moves. Sure his smash forward and Aether are similar but the rest are different.

Hm. Too late for that, bud. I had a mishap with my eyebrow tweezers. I will say this much: It's not a pretty sight.

:laugh:

Seriously, though. Why are we blind because of our doubts? Why SHOULD Marth return when Ike, probably the most recognizable character in the Fire Emblem franchise right now, is an adequate replacement? Sakurai himself mentioned that he wanted to include characters that appeal to a broader audience. Sure, Marth got recognition in Melee---but none of the games that featured him were released outside the Land of the Rising Sun. The DS remake is going to be localized, of course, but that'll be the FIRST TIME that mainstream gamers will be introduced to Marth's character. Ike has had the spotlight for a while now and is very popular.

If Marth were to return, tho', I think he'd be a Luigified Ike clone---considering some of Ike's moves are very similar to that of Marth and Roy's. But I'm not holding my breath.

Aw, you got my hopes up. I still have no doubt he'll be in there, but this doesn't confirm much of anything.

You obviously have not seen his A-moves.
Just because they share a few similar attacks doesn't mean Sakurai ripped Marth's move set from Melee and gave it to Ike. There's more than enough differences to say Ike and Marth are COMPLETELY different characters.

You sir, are a n00b.
I doubt that anyone who uses internet slang like "n00b" has any intelligence.

Hey! Pichu is in Diamond and Pearl! He's confirmed to be in Brawl! =D
That sarcastic comment is getting you no where, because Pichu is no where near the main character of Diamond and Pearl. Marth is the main character and is centered around the game. You don't think before typing, apparently.

Eruption is totally a clone move, I am sure.

I repeat, MARTH IS THE MAIN CHARACTER!!!!!!! Waluigi is no where near that.

I put the CONFIRMED thing so that people would post in this topic, by the way.

* Exact same jump animation

The following moves are not 100% the same, but extremely similar (from what I can tell from grainy Youtube vids):
* Fair
* Dair
* Forward smash (He seems to tipper)
* Uair
* U-Tilt
* NAir
* D-Tilt

Marth and Ike's Dairs aren't similar. Ike's Dair is similar to Link's more than anything.

Kind sir, please show me the interview / proof that Sakurai said "If a character was in ssbm, and is the main character of a recent game, then they are confirmed to be in ssbb."

Oh, wait, that's right, you can't.

Of course Marth is returning; Sakurai wouldn't be stupid enough to exclude the face of Fire Emblem. Why do people have this fixation with replacing characters? Marth and Ike are both well-known FE characters, so whether or not Ike is a suitable replacement is irrelevant as there's no reason for Marth to be replaced at all. That being said, this topic is moronic seeing as how it confirms nothing other than the fact that a Fire Emblem remake is coming out for the DS.

Yea, by saying someone is confirmed for having a new game is like saying Rayman is confirmed for RR 2

As I said, grainy. Maybe it wasn't a dair he was doing.
Maybe, but...he was falling down...and then he pointed his sword down and held it like Link holds his during his Dair...and then he stabbed into the ground. Just like Link.
