Marth Basically Confirmed

I would say that Mother 2 wasn't a confirmation of Ness -- and it isn't -- but Ness was already leaked. I was honestly dumbfounded at that leak, by the way.

Anyway, the reason Mother 2 is less of a Ness confirmation than FE3 is a confirmation of Marth is simple. Mother 2 was the only game in the series released internationally, and so Nintendo would stand to gain more VC sales if they worked the most nostalgia possible, ie, demo a game that had been released widely before. And if there are no more Mother reps, it doesn't matter which old-school Mother game Sakurai picked to demo because none of them have Lucas. Therefore, without prior confirmation of Ness, the Mother 2 demo would only confirm that Sakurai was trying to garner the most VC sales.

On the other hand, none of the old-school FE games were released internationally. Therefore, Sakurai would be free to choose a game that represented a character actually in Brawl, because the old FE games have equal -- that is, not much -- international appeal. If Marth weren't in, Sakurai could just choose the first FE game instead -- doesn't matter, because Ike isn't in any of them and none of them stand to make substantially more sales than the others.

Just because PoR is in 3d doesn't mean it somehow can't be put in Brawl. Think for a second guys. Why would Sakurai use Marth's game to represent Ike's history? That would be the history of Fire Emblem, yes, but Sakurai said the characters histories, not the series history.

I'm thinking a lot of people are jaded to character leaks now, because of all the leakers going around. Use common sense, people.

I thought the demos represented the SERIES not the CHARACTER. Maybe this demo just represents Fire Emblem as a whole, so has no clues whatsoever to Marth's inclusion.

To the extent of my knowledge, the screen shot was of FE 1, the dark dragon and the sword of light, or something of the sort,

FE 3 was for the SNES, and FE 1 was for the NES, bother stared Marth.

Do you realize how much more space on the disk it would take to put a full 3D Gamecube game demo on a disk than an NES, SNES, or N64 demo?

Theyre not going to put in a path of radiance demo for Ike... theyre just putting in a memorable part of the FE saga so players can see where the characters came from, or the series they originated from.

I want Marth back in, but dont take this as a confirmation... Ive seen to much of these "apparent" confirmations go wrong.. well find out on Wednesday night (Japan is 14 hours ahead of where I am (east coast)

Why would Nintendo fill the disc up with demos when they could add actual content to Brawl?

The VC demos take up very little space. And most likely they are the full games, modified a little to keep you from playing the whole thing. Why? Cause that's easier to program than disassembling each VC title to make it into a demo.

This works because VC titles are very small. If you put something like Path of Radiance on the disc, its going to take up a huge chunk. Even if its a demo. Simply the graphical assets and such are going to take up a lot of space for what could end up being very little gameplay.

Don't forget just how much music Sakurai is putting into this game. Music and voice particularly take up a lot of disc space. I'd rather have a bunch of CDs to collect and use for stage music than be stuck with a PoR demo that lasts five minutes.

May not 100% Marth, but its a big buff.

Plus, in a Japanese Mag updated on Brawl Central, about a week back, an "old characters" page was part of the Brawl issue. Ness was a character talked about and so were Marth and Roy.

Just think about it for a sec, if this part of the issue was to talm about "old characters" maybe they ment, "old characters who are returning". At 1st I thought it was to talk about characters from Melee not returning, but then Ness came back.

So Maybe the characters talked about were old characters coming back from Melee into Brawl.

Um, there is such a thing as virtual console you know??!! if they put in whole games the price would go up 20-30$ to make up the difference. They're not gonna give you who knows how many games for free just cuz you're a smash bros. fan. lol

Except that it's Marth's game! If they wanted to use an old game to represent Ike, they'd have picked a different one. Heck they could have picked a GBA one like FE 7 (Which has Lyn who is an AT) instead of 3, because it's more relevant to what's currently in the game, but NO They chose FE 3 which is Marth's game! You can't say it doesn't mean anything.
