Mario's Jump?

From this picture, Mario seems to jump unusually high. The animation he is in suggests that it is but a 1st jump and not a mid-air one. Maybe this is proof of the "Enhanced aerial combat" that Nintendo was talking about?

He's jumping off of the platform behind the pokemon's a.s.s. You might have missed it, because it sort of blends into the background.

Unless you saw it and still think his jump is high. I guess it might be a bit higher, but not by that much.

Has anyone besides me questioned whether or not these pictures are correct and not just enhanced for the sake of making the game look more dynamic than it actually is?

What's with all these nubs not noticing the platforms?
The left one just looks hidden. It's hard to see on the small thumbnail of the picture, but the right one is pretty blatant.

Who knows, though. I guess it was just an awkward picture.

The first picture could also be suggesting the start of his f-air,
so he could have used his 2nd jump.
Though attempting to nut Groudon with your bare hand may not be the most intelligent thing to do >.>
