AS I was playing around in training mode, i used mario's forward smash from maximum distance, fully charged, with always produces 23% damage. As you all know, this attack can be aimed slightly up or down, and depending on how its aimed, it'll send foes slightly higher or lower. What you may not know is that if the attack is directed upwards it inflicts 25% damage, and if it's done downwards it inflicts 22%. This is just a tidbit of information, but it also applies to other aimed f-smashes, like luigi's, which does 19% straight, 21% aimed up, and 18% aimed down. Sorry if this was already known!

i was playing around in training mode the other day and was seeing the power of each of Mario's moves for fun. His forward smash did 23, like always. Then I slowed down the time and aimed it up and down with ease. So i found at that if you do his f-smash straight, it does 23 damage. if you do it downwards, it does 22 damage... but if u do it upwards, it does 25! so now i always aim it upwards. i found this interesting and it could be potentially useful, as the upwards version not only packs more power, but also a touch more knockback, too. And vice versa for the down version. sorry if this is already known!
yes this is known. But i didn't know that it did 25% hen aimed up and 22 when aimed down. Will add this to the Mario guide.

A up angled fsmash will do upangled trajectory usually almost a star ko i guess. A downangled fsmash will send in the oppenent a offstage downward angled and sometimes it can be used as a mindgame. So yeah lol.

I imagine you'd even be able to hit somebody that hangs on the edge for a little too long with the Down forawrd smash. I never been in that scenario to do it though. Would be a funny spike.

If they're floating down towards the stage, a down-angled Fsmash can reach the edge right as they do and knock them backward. Knocks them down too

I've done it a couple of times. Mostly mindgames tho. Your oppenent may think it can't reach you, but it will. Really depends on spacing though.

I never find myself angling down FSmashes of any kind with any character.

...Unless said opponent happens to be a crouch happy Kirby <___<

what i was saying i discovered was not the fact that you can aim it, but more that it changes the damage output
