It really depends on the game or film.

For example, I play Dead Space, and I absolutely love it, because not only is it disturbing, it also has a great story. On the other hand, the so called "horror" games that rely on jumpscares to be scary I do not like as much, and yes, FNAF is also included...

In film, horror isn't that much scary as it is frustrating to watch. It became kinda cliche that people in horror films make stupid decisions, making certain cases of horror very predictable.

So, overall, yes and no.
