Assuming the OP is a Samus main or plays Samus as an alternative, Toon Link can be a ***** when fighting Samus. As someone who is thinking about using TL as an alternative and have been using him quite frequently, TL's barrages can be used like Samus'. I believe TL is pretty much an aerial type of character. His nairs are pretty dangerous for any character because it strikes twice. So how do you defeat TL? Let's see...
Okay, your best attack is probably zair since nothing can touch that except Pit's Mirror Shield. Never stay below Toon Link. Ever. If his dair gets you and there is nothing but death below, then you're pretty much screwed unless you're willing to take the risk of airdodging. Spacing is almost pointless against TL as he can just do the same. His arrows, bombs and boomerang can cancel out Samus' homing and super missiles. But if you want you can try to use a barrage of missiles anyway.
Avoid TL's nair and d-smash. Both inflict a good amount damage against any character. If anything you'll want to counter that with something totally different. The main users of TL seems to be lacking since I never really come across enough to fight them so I have to take my experience and try to make it as advice. A lot of TL's attacks are situtational so fighting him really shouldn't be hard. If he just spams his attacks over and over again then good luck with that. Your best bet is closing in on him. If he follows you like a shadow, use your bombs to space yourself because Samus' bombs obviously cause damage and it doesn't have to be enough. As long as it hurts your opponent you're pretty much getting in easy damage on them.
Again, never stay below TL. I do believe his dair can counter Samus' Screw Attack. If his dair pokes at your shield the first time, continue holding your shield or try and spotdodge or roll away. After his dair pokes the opponents shield or the opponent, he can move and strike one more time. He seems like an aerial character and his nair can kill Samus at a decent percent so counter that with something like Samus' fair because that is known to be pretty useful. Especially, especially if you pull back during the process of using her fair.
