Well honestly, Luigi isn't a very popular character. Because there are fewer people maining luigi than other characters, there is less experimenting done and therefore less progress in him metagame. Many people like being underrated, so it's a surprise when you pick luigi, and even more when you win, but luigi's progress as a character suffers greatly as a result of this lack of mainers. :(

Faithkeeper pretty much hit the nail on the head. Your post was still pretty stupid in general, but don't assume a character is bad because people are too afraid to use a character not named "Meta knight" or "Snake", let alone a scared green plumber (even though he does get all the ladies).

Yeah, to sum it up, Luigi=great, unpopular character that no one wants to play becausse everyone wants to play MK or Snake

i dont see how its hard to be good with luigi, when i first played him i knew that he had the potential to be high tier, you just have to learn to rofl combo

at the jccc tourney i repped luigi pretty good (but i used fox, zelda and link more)

If you come to MD/VA tournaments you'll see Boss and myself reppin luigi and still placing high especially considering the amount of good smashers around here.

So i used to main jiggs because of her amazing aerials, 2 in a SH + her good koing ability... Luigi has Jiggs's aerial skills + realistic tournament KO power, speed, more weight, and a decent projectile.

Maining Luigi is looking like a better and better choice to me :)

There are four types of characters in brawl:

Good and popular: e.g. Snake
Bad and popular: e.g. Sonic
Bad and unpopular: e.g. Jigglypuff
Good and unpopular: e.g. Luigi

Seriously. Get a good player to play Luigi. You'll see what they'll see: WIN.

luigi is god tier he is liek the only one in brawl who can truely combo
That's completely false. Many characters can legitimately combo in Brawl. It's not always obvious how yes, but no, Luigi isn't alone, and he certainly isn't the best at comboing. And naturally he isn't anywhere close to god tier.

Back on topic, watch Void play Luigi. Void is too good.

I enjjoy Luigi being unpopular. I love Luigi dittos though, don't get me wrong. I just love proving to people how awesome Luigi is, most just don't understand.

Someone want to play?

Luigi has always been good, especially in Melee and Brawl.

One of the biggest reasons he's not used?

Most people just don't have the finger speed to hit B fast enough to use his tornado to his full
potential. Sure it's easier now, but when you want to do it without jumping into it it can be difficult to spam it to its max potential.

Really, how many Luigi's have you seen die by using their Up+B instead of tornado and getting edgehogged or not getting enough height, or seen pathetically hovering in place before they fall to the abyss because they're hitting B too slow?

It's a shame really, but I always did enjoy owning my Melee college tournaments and having people say "Luigi's tornado can go up like that? Let me try! What the **** it's not working!". They're bad, I know, but it supports my point.

People can be good with Luigi without being able to use the tornado to it's potential, true, but who would want to when you can pick Meta Knight and never have to try to get back to the stage?

Of course, now I get why nobody uses Metaknight.

Did you really just compare the properties Luigi's tornado to Meta Knights? Amazing really, but any Luigi who has had to recover against a competent edgeguarder (surprisingly, side b doesn't always cover it somehow!) or is one himself will realize that it's really quite necessary for survival to rise high and quickly (when up b isn't enough) regardless of the situation. How often do you see Meta Knight players suffering in their offstage game because they can't hit that little button fast enough? The tornado is usually used on stage and if you can't mash fast enough to drag your opponent into the air, his tornado is still ridiculous enough to be useful. Coupled with his ridiculous downsmash and nearly unstoppable edguarding and priority, yeah it's really a wonder nobody uses him.

I rarely expect much from Wario mainers, natures D student, but sometimes life isn't as easy as pressing side b and letting your giant metal wall of doom shield you, sry. Let's not let our mutual annoyance with Meta cloud our vision from the facts.

Luigi's tornado is a ridiculously powerful tool off the map. I've gotten many kills by tornadoing into someone off the ledge and shooting them under the stage or away from it past recover range. It's just not always easy to hit the button that fast for some when the pressure is on so they choose other characters.

This is all just speculation though, because I have no idea why people wouldn't flock to Luigi with all his epic fire punch combos, tornado versatility, and ridiculously powerful tilted forward smashes and taunts.

Maybe... I'll never know.

Luigi is a very good character and im upset that i dont see him used that often. I personally have a hard time using this green demon and i have to applaud anybody that can get good with him, i think he is just too sexy for me to use and get good with unfortunately...

Luigi is a good character who stands out with his great use of momentum, nice recovery, and high prioity moves. For instance, luigi can do two back airs in a single short hop is timed correctly, both have good prioity.

Mk is a great charact who stands out with his multiple jumps that make momuntum irrelevant; his Ungimpable, insane recovery ; and his prioitasitic disjionted hit box.

In other words, Mk beats luigi at his own game.

So why play Luigi if thier is an obvious better option?

At least that's why I assume their arn't many good luigis.

But luigi is my third character so meh, maybe I dont know jack.

MK is obviously the better character, but how many people really respect people who use him? Many say they don't care what people think and they plan to win (who can argue with all the tournament wins MK gets?), but I enjoy hearing people say "wow I didn't know Luigi was that good" personally.

And hey, Luigi has a small advantage from all of this. How often do you play really good Luigi's? If one practices, he can have the advantage of having played the sea of Meta Knights, Robs, Snakes and Marths out there while their opponent is more likely to be more in the dark about what to expect.

Of course, playing Luigi against Marth or Meta Knight is still more of a headache than a fun match, so it comes down to personal preference and playstyle.

Luigi, IMO, probably has everything you'd want in a character; a good ground game, a beast aerial game (As Brawl does focus more on Aerial Game moreso), an incredible recovery, and such.

Of course, other characters does everything he can do better. :x

Basically, if we gave Luigi a sword, he'd be so god**** broken Meta Knight would be cryin' back to his MAMA >:(

I think a hammer would better suit him.

Luigi can be just as good as MK. The difference is you have to practice a whole lot more to get as good with him. It takes 10 minutes of practice to become good with MK, whereas Luigi could take months of practice to become really good with.

If half the people who mained MK mained Luigi, he'd be winning more tournaments.

Oh for sure dude, I agree with most of that. I dont use MK because I just dont like his play style. I love luigi on the other hand.

I was just answering the question "why are thier no good luigi's"
