Luigi Board Tourneys

Where did they all go? I remember the simple luigi ladder, the apparent complex/non-simple luigi ladder that was in development, I think player01 was holding a tourney, and there were going to be crew tourneys, what happened?

Should we still have tourneys? luigi ditto or not (I've been wanting to try out G&W as a CP for the high tiers but I haven't had a chance to test him against competition) or should we just be testing in friendlies etc. for new metagame finds (low chances seeing luigi's current metagame progress)

I'm sure that board tourneys which were not just limited to luigi dittos but with everyone maining luigi would give a possibility of metagame progress since most (i hope all the luigi users) will be looking for some finds during the tourney at once.

Well thats me being sleepy, but leave comments/suggestions/challenges/flames(i'm prepared for this) and thanks

edit: i have moved to colorado about a week ago so i need to try out the new internet connection and my data and stuff seeing as how alot of my data got really screwy during the move, and that I'm very rusty so any friendlies would be nice

I left my first tournament after the second round. I managed to knock out my town's MK, but since I left early, I'll never know if I could've won it T_T

I never said anything about ditto matches, but having a larget portion or at least a luigi in some rounds could help with metagame finds since everyone is looking at the same tourney.

Maybe we could put up a clan, or a tourney at least, I could run it but it would not be very well put together and I might forget to update and/or see every post

I'm pretty terrible at luigi dittos LOL

I've lost or almost lost a match with every luigi I've ever played. Thankfully I can figure out people's playstyle after a match or two and that has seriously saved my *** in sets.

Here's my amazing resume of luigi records :

Chred2AKrisp - Won a tourney set 2-1, barely won the first, got 'comebacked' 2nd match, and then finally won by a decent amount 3rd match.
Biglou- Beat me in an intense friendly ditto a little while back; same event he did the same vs boss
Zhao_guang- I can't remember if we played one or two sets online, but I remember them being pretty close.
DaPeach2001/WeeG- played a billion online dittos a while ago, I think I won the majority but it was usually down to last life.
Themann- just happened to play him the other night online (only got to play one b/c my internet cut out) close match that i think i was up the whole time but then he pulled a pretty amazing comeback.
Boss- lives in the same region as me but actually we've never done luigi dittos. We have done a couple mario vs luigi/gaw sets in tourney tho.

there's probably more I can't think of too XD I'll get better at it someday lol

******** on a side note, I started playing wifi again to work on some of my match-ups that I don't get enough practice in, and that includes dittos. Anyone who lives on the EC or somewhere close, hit me up with a PM or on AIM (check my profile) and we'll play. ********

Well Luigi dittos could help you improve alot not only by simply letting you play as him, but by having a luigi to learn from by playing as, and a luigi to learn from as an opponent.

A tourney in which luigi must be the main but with the allowance of counter picks (especially the high tourney rankers) would give a possibility of finding exploits or advantages in the matches.

kinda off topic: seeing as how luigi's metagame is moving at crippled snail pace, especially with the high tourney rankers, I will probably just have to resort to keeping Luigi as a second pick in tourneys for the non-top5 chars. Either G&W (I like how his dtilt screws up metaknight's short hop/dash approach) or Snake (mindgames mindgames mindgames, and power)

Very true. Check out his tourney results, he goes Luigi only and places in 50 man tourneys, no secondary.

Since I main snake and use him most of the time in tourneys, its always nice to have broken *** luigi as a back up for some matches because no one here really knows the match up plus luigi is broken tier.

seriously though, I remember seeing multiple threads about in-board tourneys going on a while ago, did they just die or went unmanaged?

If they are dead I might hold a board, non-luigi ditto tourney, I would encourage dittos but a regular tourney has its advantages.

What do you all think? Should it be elheb ladder style or branch style like a regular tourney?

He doesn't do wifi. He's too nice for wifi. His a tourney wh0re like theemann and polmex etc. Lol i think me and zhao are soon to be tourney wh0res as well since we won just local tourneys. but you really have to be active everyday to keep it updated though like elh's.

Yeaaah hippie is right, I don't really do wifi. I probably would if my internet was better here, but even then I would probably just get frustrated with it. Hah, I am moving into an apartment this summer and we're getting high speed.... maybe I can actually play some of you guys then, even if it is wifi.
