But anyways, Ive been using Lucas For a while now and I dont see much inprovement...I Know all the Techniques but I just cant win.
I mean I will get lucky from time to time but it seem likes my Lucas is very predictable and like..I dont know what to do to change that...
Like I think I "spam" PK-Fire a bit but I dont know..
Can someone give me advice...Like I dont want to have A predictable Lucas

Lucas has a really hard learning curve, imo. He is easy to pick up, but hard to get the hang of. Quite honestly, I went through the same thing (not like im much better now :(), and I found that practicing, watching videos, and reading some thoughts on how to play Lucas seemed to help me out a lot.

As for spamming PK Fire.... well I think thats something that is really easy to do, as PK Fire is Lucas' spacing tool. If you are playing offensive Lucas, find new ways to create openings (fly around the screen fast until you get a grab or a Nair combo opportunity). If you are playing a defensive Lucas, find a new way to punish imperfect approaches (D-Smash and grabs rock, U-Smash if your opponent is that predictable).

If you dont want to be predictable- learn more options. Chances are you just dont know enough of your options. If you think you are predictable, your opponent probably would agree.

Start asking your opponents after playing them what they think you could do better. Chances are, unless you are playing total douches, that they will be willing to offer some words of wisdom.

edit- and yea, read Tyrs guide, its pretty **** good.

Welcome to smashboards ^_^

I guarantee you will get better help if you ask more specific questions. Look for scotu's thread(s) on getting better in brawl tactical discussion, and look at stickies here. If you have something in mind right now, ask away, though we have a Q&A thread here as well (stickied)

Its not that hard really
Just use the correct recovery method in the right situation:

If your right next to the edge use rope snake
If your your below the stage use PKT2
and if your above the stage use magnet pull

But you dont always have to use the same recovery method for certain situations
mix them up
For example if your above the stage drop down a little bit next to the stage and tether

As for u getting punished while using magnet pull
u dont always have to do the full magnet pull
u can just wavbounce PK fire and air dodge towards the stage instead

PKT2 is Lucas' primary recovery move...u need to learn to use it
and trust yourself while doing it
And its ok to mess up even some of us vetaran Lucas players mess up with PKT2 recovery sometimes lol
its normal
Practice the angles...and you'll master it sooner or later

I hope this helps

I generally recover with tether or rising dair. Always aim PKT2 above the ledge when they're going to edgehog you.
