why aren't we using ratios in the matchups?

The goal of this fairly outdated thread was to provide guidelines for how to deal with character specific strategies. Not to determine a matchup rating.
If you're in the middle of a set against a snake player, on your second stock at smashville, do you care more about the fact that it's a 7:3 at the moment, or that snake can set a C4 on the top platform and negate both the safety of camping one side of the stage with fire AND camping the platform?
