basically, my friend who was playing falcon seemed to be having trouble nairing out of shield between SHDF, and i didn't know what to tell him..is he just slow?

i don't remember what i do in that matchup against people who spam SHDF...what are the options if someone tags your shield with a rising fair..

i assume you can't do anything after the falling one before a tilt will come out? or am i wrong?

regardless could you spotdodge the first aerial and then tilt before the second maybe? or will that not work either?

i swear i just aerial out of shield when people do that..at least with marth..but i dunno about falcon..do you have to just roll away?

Wow, never been in that situation when I'm falcon and a marth is double f-airing my shield.

hmmm...as marth, I'd grab them out of the second fair after it hits my shield..thats abit bold though, I don't know if falcon has the grab power for doing something like that. If he can't do that, I'd probably roll away or wait for the tilt if he doesn't back off and keep his distance.

It all depends on how sloppy the marth is, you can get away with many things depending on his skill during the shdf..his height and spacing being meant of course.

i claw, so my spacing doesn't mess up that easily..or rather..if i thought it likely the spacing was off i wouldn't SHDF...so in reality the problem lies with the fact that i control the spacing to the point that i can choose when to trap him in the shield..he just need to learn to dodge better i guess

though honestly it's a lot more efficient to just pressure his shield and then try to grab him...i was just SHDFing because i was feeling lazy..but he had so much trouble with it..i think he too more damage trying to aerial out of it than i would have given him by chasing him:p

Spot dodging the shdf is BAD...dashing away isn't. I just grab them as I said due to marth being able to grab using the hotboxes of attacks so easily..if you can time your grab to do it with falcon, do tat.

I would not try an aerial out of it for the most part, I'd back off if I was the falcon.

Hell, I'd throw out a side b over jumping at the marth.

tell him to stop playing falcon and to just do marth dittos. marth is his own best counter.

I love Marth dittos they own you all, but I always hate Marth's counter ability over himself; he's probably my worst matchup next to Falco, Shiek, and the ICs. Back to the point... I'd just take Bluedeath's suggestion and either grab him or dash away, Shield-grabbing can work wonders against aerial foes after their attacks. I'm sure wavedashing backwards from a shield right before the shdf occurs would work and allow enough time for a counter combo while the Marth is preparing his next move, but I've never been in that situation either; I rarely play Falcon and even when I do I never play him competetively.

up throw knee works at 40-60ish %, grab him out of sheild, or jump out of your sheild with an Bair, or Nair etc., also u can hit them between the fairs, including grab him between if he is in grab range.
