Looking for the best Pichu combos/plays!

Hey guys, i love Pichu and i play him from time to time, i think people severely underrate him. I make youtube videos and i was planning on making a "Top 10 Pichu plays" vid and i have about 4-5 clips but it's possible there are better ones and they are really hard to find, do any of you guys know the best/most awesome plays or combos as Pichu? I want to show people that this character isn't as useless as some people might think. Any help is appreciated guys! Thank you!

There are 5-6 matches where Mew2King uses Pichu to troll newbies (lots of combos and relentless nair pressure)
KO kingpin has some (not too many combos though)
AesirGod - Derf.MW on here has a lot of matchups on YT ( those are low quality unfortunately)
ICP has some as well (mostly mains ICs though)
t0mmy mains Pichu as well, not sure if he's got combos but there are vids and they are from the Prehistoric Melee era.

KDJ, Chudat, and Unknown are probably the best from the old era, but the vid quality will be bad>

There is another Pichu player too, but I won't name him. He got beat by a last match Pichu counterpick, his own main....it was recorded on stream. RIP in peace peachu.

In all honesty Kirby seems more viable than Pichu....if Pichu's foward smash was single hit and his dash attack didn't suck he might've been viable.

Yes I completely forgot about KDJ, but honestly he's amazing with whatever character. There's also some Chudat vids, I was trying to think about vid quality though.

I think Kirby has more potential than Pichu at winning a tournament, disagree with me if you want or call my opinion invalid or cry into your pillow. Don't really care "m8". I like Pichu a hell of a lot more, but Kirby is just more viable.

Pichu's dash attack has really bad end lag and animation that leave him extremely prone. The hitbox is small, and once he launches into it he actually slows down....on a dash attack....makes no sense. It can end combos well, but if it whiffs you're toast.

Kirby has an even worse dash attack, THE WORST. But he has a good fair/uair and excellent bair and a good up-smash and can zone like Jiggly puff (hitboxes not as generous), his dair can also spike and he has the ability to suicide when at unequal percents. Tilts are all good, his puff jump allows him to easily change orientation in the air to get a bair or fair out fast and his Dsmash also has upward KO potential as low as 120% from neutral and comes out fast.

The main problem with Pichu is trades, he will always lose plus he will be adding damage to himself. He was made with the sole intent of being a handicap character with a depressingly light weight (21.5% less than even Kirby)

Lol i know it's hard to believe i'm not a longtime vet of the site, but i've been on SmashBoards since early 2013, just i forgot the password to my old account, and i appreciate the help! Unfortunately i already had that KDJ vid, it's pretty famous and was even shown on the smash documentary, and i've looked through the "Pichu video thread" and watched many pichu videos, but to be quite honest the majority of them is the Pichu getting 3/4 stocked and losing very badly, i kind of need direct links to combos/plays if anyone has any. Thanks for the replies though guys i've been watching a lot of Pichu matches but to be honest finding combos is so rare and it normally just shows the Pichu getting rekt lol. So if anyone has direct links to the combos i would really appreciate it. Even if it's your own clip

Unfortunately that is Pichu. He can combo and juggle and chain throw, but it's all repetitive since most of it's back to back nairs or bairs. nair > dthrow > uptilt > upair > nair > nair....he doesn't have much creativity in his options :/ There are some cool set ups he can do with thunder to start and keep combos, but it only works on noobs to intermediate players. Haven't seen those used in tourney.

At first this Pichu seems to be atrocious he SDs twice pretty much, but then it's like another person started playing that has solid movement, WDing, and tech skill (starts at 1:42). He gimps Fox two stocks in a row, without really being touched. First is a common 2 hit gimp, but the second (1:54) would be nice in your combo vid I think. There is some good stuff later on too, that Fox isn't very good though. The first match is quite a comeback; in context the stuff is pretty cool, on it's own I can't tell if it's still awesome or not.

Yea I've seen this one before. Eh IDK, no disrespect if he's active on here still but it seems to be against a bunch of CPUs and then 1 of his casual friends. 90% of it is very common repetitve stuff. But there are 2-3 really neat creative combos like the ones with walljumps mid combo and the one where he flys past his own thunder jolt ball and hits Falcon from under after it connects.

there's a pichu bodying a falcon on fd. there's not too much cool stuff though. there just isn't much pichu content on youtube at all, mainly because there aren't many pichu players or people that really care about pichu players and a whole bunch of other reasons. then there's the fact that nearly everything is outdated and we don't really have a tripple R for pichu... i do think pichu is capable of zero to deaths and all that cool stuff, but they're mostly strings and stuff that nobody has really done yet aside from m2k (and he doesn't even use pichu exclusive stuff anyway)... this'll probably be a challenge for you.

for anybody who cares about what i mean with what i said about nobody doing possible zero to deaths, i've never seen anybody tech chase a fox/falco to chaingrab percentages and do the rest from there. i've also never seen much use of the doraki wall jump or abuse of certain characters in the air but this might just be because of the lack of content on them. derf and icg have probably done this, but there's still the lack of content...

That's a solid Pichu player, I find Falcon is so easy to gimp on neutral/edge and he's the perfect weight for chain throwing. It's weird becuase he is so fast you think he'd be difficult but against a Pichu it's like all his moves come out just a little too late.

IMO they really need to change the matchup on the wiki pages, like Falcon is an 80:20 right now....but falcon can be 0-2-DEATHED so easy with a pichu if ya get just one grab. And then there's Ganondorf who supposedly has a 70:30 matchup, but his tilts and smashes can sometimes miss Pichu completely. Both so easy to gimp off stage.

I just space really really well

I've gotten this perfect angle with thunder while jumping off stage and the watch and game player would have to die or hit me and thunder, then I DIed up followed up with an upair into another thunder and killed him off the top.

It was wonderful.

Yes it is I've seen it a few times in other vids, but KDJ flung himself out so far and fast he beat his own jolt and was able to come from underneath. It just seemed so stylish how he did it, it's not something I can easily do yet.

And from the posts I've read from you so far it seems that YOU don't know how Melee works. Clanking grabs with attacks? I was joking with DeRF, if he truly thinks that combo is "ezpz" I'd like to see him use it to end every ledge guard attempt :d (again joking in case you don't understand sarcasm or humor).

Pro-tip: If you talk crap about someone don't expect them to be nice to you. Expect them to finally call you out on your BS that they didn't call you out on before (because they were trying to be polite)

jolt nair is one of my favorite edgeguards.
My all time favorite is doraki jump jolt->rising nair. It's the most fun thing in melee. You're almost never in position to do it though.

falco dittos on mk2 are super legit. But falco dittos on japes are where it's at <3

Anyways if you guys want to team up and troll together fine by me. I'm not really affected by the white noise, just want to try and actually get better at Pichu.

Make sure you get some Flying Jolt, Rising Nairs edgeguards at your local. Would be awesome if you took 1st.

debating is the way to get good. Challenge the ideas of the people who came before you in order to advance the character.
But also be able to build off of the advice of all us old timers.
That's what both me and the muted kid over here did when we were starting out.

Hopefully I'll be able to do some stuff for you guys, I'm trying to whip the Pichu back into shape at least a little bit for saturday.
I really want to just focus on commentary and let the newer kids at these tournaments do their thing, and primarily just help them improve, but we'll see how it goes.

So there are SOME combo videos on Youtube for Pichu such as this one but they're usually not that impressive, as you said. Your best bet is to look around for videos by top players like Mew2King, Mango, and the mythical KDJ Pichu.

Uh...we kind already covered all that. Those last 2 Pichu's were kinda noobish, lots of SDs and full hops, not really any combos.

Pretty much anything easy to find and with Pichu in the title I'm sure GR has already watched. Chudat and Unknown also have amazing Pichu's on the level of KDJ in his prime.

At any rate it's good to see fellow a Pichu enthusiast.

Yeah M2K's Tier list had me scratching my head a bit. I really want to believe Pichu could be 19th, I really do.
