I think I may have found a neat little trick on yoshi's island (pipes), although it's pretty much useless. When the blocks on the bottom of the stage are spinning and it is possible to go down through the hole, if you go down there and tether the ledge (you have to be hanging down a bit, not touching the block, and atleast use four pikmin to hang from with olimar), then wait for the block covering the edge to stop spinning, then pull yourself up like you normally would to grab the ledge, but you will instead hang just below the block like you are on the ledge.
The advantage of this is that you can still ledge attack or ledge roll. Unfortunatly a ledge jump or pressing back from the edge will just cause the block above you to start spinning and you to fall off the ledge. I've tested this with all characters that can hang from the ledge with a tether and toon link is the only one who can't do ths trick. The only advantages of doing this is that you can hit your opponent with a ledge attack while he is attacking the blocks to get to you thinking that you can't do anything and that your stuck (it helps if you yell "oh noes, I'm stuck" when you do this, to lull your opponent into a false sense of security or something), you can roll away and attack, or you can press back/jump and then use your double jump and an aerial. You shouldn't do this more than once against the same opponenet because they aren't likely to fall for the same trick twice.
Although this seems pretty useless, but a free attack on your opponent isn't to bad, and this may (hopefully) lead to other discoveries, since olimar sort of teleports through the stage.
Thanks for reading.
P.S. It's my birthday tomorrow XD.
