What's the correlation between the two? I always see pictures and GFX of them together like theyre some kind of couple but I'm not understanding it

The Little Mac reveal trailer where Samus pointed out how short he is and he KO punched her is where it started. The weirdos of the internet decided that they were in love and started pairing them together. I'm feeling it more than Snake and Samus though.

actually it goes farther than that, back when brawl was first announced and sakurai would post pictures revealing new assist trophies, one of the most memorable was a screenshot he took showing off little mac when samus summoned him at new pork city. He used that original picture to show how short the little mac assist trophy was compared to the fighters.

This was the first time samus and mac were shown and I guess sakurai decided that as a gag, he'd use a similar situation with the mac reveal trailer.

They pulled this with Peach & Mr. Game & Watch after Brawl was released. BITF also did something similar with Kirby and Jigglypuff.
