I will check everything around. Pehaps you guys have some sort of tool to find other Link players on the Boards? I would like to exchange some ideas, even if I will take a while to get familiarized with the terminology.

Again, thx everyone.

Glad that I can be of use with my information.

As I said in my previous post, there is no purple costume.
Sorry for the false information-- from now on I'll just stick to what I know.

The shields, as I've said before, do change with the costume!
The design, the color, the shape, it all changes!

Although, I haven't played enough Zelda games to know what shields are which when it comes to the "mirror shield" and the like.

EDIT (in repsonse to Lego):

I've looked.
Nothing looks familiar.

The actual look of the shields are a blur to me-- all I know is that they DO change.

No.

I'm Masahiro Sakurai.
It's what I do.

egruntz, you get a sticky for being so helpful and awsome. Awesomely helpful.
Very cool!
Thanks Chill!

Call me a n00b... but can someone explain what having your thread "stickied" actually means? I've been here for a long time, and I hear it all the time (hell, I've even used it in sentences from time to time) but I have no clue what it really means.
It's when a thread is "stuck" to the top of the page.
Meaning, it can never be drowned in other bumped topics.

Hooray Sticky

Is Link a lot better then his Melee counterpart?

When you play with him does he feel like someone totally different?

Link plays a lot like Melee Link from what I've read and seen. He just seems to have gotten a speed and strength buff. And from the looks of it, his range has increased by a little, but that may just be me.

Link just has gotten a lot of small improvements from Melee. I think you would have no problem playing Link in Brawl if you played Melee Link.

I'm just sad that spin attack doesn't have the semi-spike quality.

Link in terms of how one uses him barely changed. I went to EforAll (and had the early pass so got in hours before everyone else on thurs and played a lot that day)

I used him pretty much the same, his changes didn't really feel like you had to change your play style much. I used him more than I used anyone and even got to sudden death against gimpy with him. I didn't feel he was tons different, the games differences are what you''ll have to get adjusted to then his as a character. At least from what I played in the demo.

Right.

His style is almost exactly the same; the only things changed were some added improvements, and some slight nerfes here and there. But generally, Link has changed for the better. His play style is both faster and smoother than what it was in Melee, and he's become more noob-friendly than before.

On an off-topic note:
Hooray for the first Link forum sticky! Glad I can be of help to everyone! =P

Oo, and take a look at my new avatar.
It has that "bad-***" feel to it, no? :)

Also, you can no longer spike an opponent diagonally downward with this move. Disappointing, eh?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I must find a new kill move when this awesome game comes out. Pretty freaking sweet that you got to test ti though, nice job.

For some strange reason, I taught myself swordplay without the use of the Spin attack, Even before E for All. Guess I got lucky training myself without using it.

I has another question about Link's Spin Attack. I know the semi-spike is gone, but does it still have the powerful knockback it had in Melee? I used it for alot of my kills/edgeguarding/ect. as it was an extremely useful attack.

All right...moving away from the Spin Attack to ask my question again: egruntz, I has a request. In the "Extra Info" part of your first post, can you add a section for his "idle animations"? You know, when you left the character alone for long enough...the YL foot-scuff, the Link/YL knee-bouncing, Bowser's stretching in the middle of the fight...those are what I mean by idle animations. Does he do the little sword-twirly from TP? You know...from when you were locked on as a human...he would twist his wrist, twirling his sword in a circle. Since he's based off TP, does he have that? And what else does he have?

Crappy update, IMO...I already knew that...I'm off to find the Link vid thread. See you all...

I don't think he would do that because you can't target characters

Who cares what they do it's not even a big deal

As an idle animation... not when you lock onto characters : P

I mean can he only do his sword spin after he killed one of the characters?
