All people that say Link sucks are afraid of maining his awesomeness. Face it, if Link really does belong in bottom-tier you must suck at brawl if any Link beats you. And really, who gives a crap about a tier list anyways? Link doesn't suck, it's the people who use Link and call him crappy while using him that suck.

OK, what part of "it was a joke" don't you understand? I said I'm sorry already. Maybe if you were paying attention to all the posts on this thread you would have noticed it, but I bet you were just too busy being hasty to see to that now weren't you? And don't hate on Skler, he's more a Link mainer then you'll ever amount to be.

Yeah Links not that great even though I main him because he's my favorite character. The best I way I play Link is spamming arrows and bombs heh. Running in gets me nowhere against most people, so I have to play a more defensive style to get the win.

I've always been a Link fan, but it really, REALLY pisses me off that Sakurai has made Link suck for the past Three games. Wow. He must REALLY either hate Legend of Zelda, or just hates Link in general with a passion.

Im not a believer in tiers or anything like that, but I have to admit, I was afraid for Link's potential, until that is, my older brother picked him up. (He's always wanted to main Link, since Link is his favorite character but has "accidently" mained Fox in both previous games )

anyway, yea, he sucked of course at first. I mean, he just didnt stand a chance against my Meta Knight. But as we played, over and over and over and over and over (and over >_>) he started to learn his moves and properties, and now hes really good with him. So now Im not worried about Link anymore lol

Link does not suck nor is he amazing.
If the Link player is SMART and KNOWS THE CHARACTER MATCH-UP and can APPLY Link's techniques and moves to THAT match up in EVERY match up, then that Link PLAYER makes LINK good.

Shut the **** up already with Link sucking, because he's actually quite good when you're not a bad player, and when you're not a ******.

What does it take for a character to be good?
A high tier placement?

Tier placements are based on certain advantages that characters have over others.
To say that Link is a BAD or GOOD basically throws this ranking list out of the window. It's not a question of how good or bad Link has become. It is about the advantages and disadvantages that Link has over other characters that determine his placement in a tier list.

Don't simply look at his moveset and say....wow...Link must suck. Because compared to some other characters such as Metaknight or Pit, his moveset IS limited. However, this does not make Link bad. It just means that characters such as Metaknight and Pit have a higher advantage over him. It's not like he's bottom tier. In fact, much of his style is based on defensive gameplay and this puts him at an advantage over most characters without the appropriate range needed to confront him.

I'm not gunna get into specifics on Link's place in the tier or his performance against other characters but I just think that it needs to be addressed....Link doesn't suck...

I don't understand how so many topics can keep popping up over how Link either "sucks" or is "amazing".
If you guys wanna complain about how "bad" Link is...why play him? Go pick up another character if he bothers you so much.

A lot has changed from Link in Melee to Brawl but I don't look at it as a good or bad change...just a change that we have to adapt our gameplay around.

You guys just don't know how to use him properly. Stop trying to play him like melee Link and you might get somewhere. It's not about getting in you're opponents face. You have to stay back and spam. Try full hop double arrow or tripple arrow along with the rang and a bomb if you arrow cancel after it. You just have to be more patient and spam more. When the opponent approaches, just jab or clawshot cancel to knock them back again. Also, Link can clawshot cancel to his kara cancel u-smash for a combo and u-smash out of shield is good too. Just give him some more time, you'll see.
