When i was playing Melee, Link was one of my favourite characters, same wth 64, but now adays i just cant seem to use him as well, was he nerfed THAT Bad, i have met some people who can really use him well, and im hoping i can learn some tricks to really make link effective.
But...
When i used to fight my friends they would always use toon link over regular olink, and i say "Why, Hes just as good as Toon Link", and they give me a Weird face, when i first started playing Brawl i would have done the same thing, toon link just seemed so much better then Regular Link, but from what ive read on these borads, Could Link be better then his Cartoon Buddy?

That really depends and how you like to play. If you like midair combat, go with T.Link, but if you're the kind of guy who waits first and rather attack on the ground, Go with Link. The other posts below me will provide better answers.

Overall Toon Link is a better character than Link.
Has projectiles, can approach better, has combos and has better matchups overall.
But Link is just awesome and isn't KO'ed as easily and has a sexier boomerang.

no, tl does everything link does, BETTER. He may be lighter but at least he can recover being hit off stage most of the time, unlike links garbage recovery

lol... Link is in no way better than T.Link
Also, Link is so heavy because he's carrying an invisible bag with an infinite amount of bombs and arrows.
They should've at least given him a better ranged clawshot for recovering instead of giving him one of the worser tethers in the game <_<

Well Link has stronger kill options like the F-tilt, F-smash, and D-air, but that's really it.

Directly above you tipping a dair.
Sure Link got seriously nerfed since melee. So did marth but i have learned to adjust. Just play differently since brawl doesn't = melee. I love his projectiles more than i did in melee (bombs have better knockback and boomerang is fun to screw around with) and he holds solid against certain characters (*cough* Pit) if used well. He out camps most projectile users as well. That being said, Toon link is better. I hate his boomerang arrows and bombs in comparison to big link's tho. His aerials pwn and his recovery is better so that gives him an edge against Link. However, if a match is held between both links, it could go either way. Link and TL are just like Marth and Ike. One is quicker and the other has a little more power. I main marth so in the grand scheme of things the link vs tl debate doesnt bother me.

Toon Link is definately a better character than Link. He has much higher priority, much better attack speed, and compared to Link, Toon Link has a great recovery.

Donkee kongs better than Link

debate until bent out of shape
What?

Heck no, I'm better with Link than TL cuz I'm so used to him.

If someone just starts playing with the Links, they would probably be good with TL.

One of the key reasons TLink is so superior, I think, is because he weighs far, far more than he should in comparison to his speed/attack power.

The little bugger is still quite strong and just doesn't seem to die, even when hit by a reasonably strong attack from Bowser at higher percentages (something which tends to kill most characters). I've noticed Diddy is the same way: he weighs far more than he should.

I think this was part of Sakurai's attempt to not let the game be bogged down by things like balance, like he mentioned in an article where he tried to make the game a level playing field so grandmothers around the world can mistakenly believe they're good at SSB.

Link is much more technical this time around and takes much more training before you can use him effectively. If used properly, he CAN overcome Toon Link.

Then again, it also depends on the TL player's skills.
