When a decent mk player uses this move knowing fully what its capable of and the prority it has over your moves, what do you do?

I actually haven't thought much about how I avoid it. If they spam it on the ground, I just camp and pivot grab. I can whistle it if necessary offline, but online I just try to predict it and air dodge well. Also, if I manage to take a hit without dying, I usually jump right away so they Meta Knight doesn't have enough time to come gimp me. It sounds strange, but it works.

just never try to edgeguard mk, unless you're absolutely sure you will edgeguard him. But when mk shuttle loop you just down b with olimar, the combo breaker ^^

If you can predict it, airdodge it. Good MKs will bait airdodges though and screw you that way. I usually whistle once I see movement and then if he was actually baiting an airdodge, he'll attack afterwards. That's when you airdodge.

As for the glide attack portion, just upb through it. If he's at a low angle, then pivotgrab. You can try shielding it, but don't shieldgrab it if he spaces well. He'll dsmash you if you do that. Instead, shield the glide attack and the dsmash. Punish afterwards.

Also, you can throw purples at him to force him to either attack the pikmin with the glide attack and get punished by you, or take the hit of the purple. You've got a couple options.

When I am in the air it's like destined for MK to use the shuttle Loop, so I super armor it, although it fails in online.

Its usually very predictable so just time your air dodges. Try to avoid playing Mk in that position anyway if possible.

I love spiking mk's out of upb, but I mess it up often lul :p Not good then. Also, Mk's can often just recover from the spike anyway, unless it's at a high percent.

i usually go for the spike if i'm not too close to the edge, it trades hits sometimes can gimp yourself if you spike. If too close to edge or in the projectory path of going off then i just whistle -> gimp

Lol, he's the master of the countergimp. Never try to edgeguard MK unless your name is Jigglypuff, Kirby or Marth and still be very careful.

so to my understanding and what i just read, the best option is to play defensive and run/wistle..... ok but what happends when they used it again? I'm talking about on stage not off, its not uncommon for a meta to use it more then one at a time. The option i used was to roll behind them when they land and grab but i cant do that because they can downsmash faster then the grab.

If they dsmash after they land, try pivot grabbing it. It can be tough because its you need to be out of range of the dsmash for it to work, so you need to estimate where they are going to land in order to space properly.

if they're doing it on the ground and you get behind them, don't try anything risky like a grab, just throw pikmin or do an fsmash if in range

Hi.

But ehh just either
shield
or
Whistle

Dont roll If you do roll then wait you know the dsmash may come but be careful MK can do anything after the shuttle loop if the cancel it properly.

But on the dsmash part just shield it. or piviot grab them.

Why don't we talk about getting gimped?

It doesn't matter that you can uair towards the ledge to prevent edge hugs when you have to fall from being knocked up and out. That's quite a lot of room to be hit.

I spent the entire weekend at Havok's playing with Havok and TKD. They've basically mastered how to gimp Olimar. Rather than dair they just go for nairs that will knock me just far enough away that I cannot recover.

If I whistle spam they simply follow me down until I have no room left and then nair/dair. Usually I can fair them out of this, but that's if they're waiting for whistle spam.

These aren't the kind of dumb metaknights that you can whistle/spike out of up b, (I do it to average metaknights and it's sweet, I know.) so how do I recover? My tournament record against TKD has hit 3-9 at this point. =/
