I shouldn't say this but if its legal problems your worried about, its next to impossible for them to catch you if your smart about it.

Within the confines of my mortal shell in T-Town.
I don't really think they care.

Nintendo's biggest issue right now as far as roms is DS piracy. With the rise of the R4, Roms are just a click away. No more money for your handheld bliss.

I bought an M3 Real in November 2007 because a) I'm sick of lugging all my DS carts around, b) my mp3 player died and SD memory is cheap, and c) it plays GBA roms through an adapter (I'm REALLY tired of lugging those around). It's a great device, really.

Exactly. Theres practically no risk and if you have the game you should fell less guilty. Unless you don't like piracy like my bro. Hes weird xD.

I assume you need a special device that reads N64 cartraidges to dump the ROM. I've never done any ROM dumping myself so I don't know. Its apparently legal when you make the ROM yourself, illegal to download it whether you own it or not. I still downloaded it though.

Try searching Google for "Dumping N64 ROMs". School is blocking the websites so I'm unsure of which of the links work.

I really don't understand why it's legal to dump it, but not to download it...uploading it, yes, downloading it, no.

How much does the device to dump ROMs cost? Is there any sort of risk to damage your cartridge by doing it? I know it voids your warantee, but other than that...?
I may invest in one if there's no sort of risk, and it's not too expensive. Also, if your game is broken, will that copy to the ROM as well? (Stupid question I know, just trying to make sure...) I recently bought Pokemon Crystal and it will not save at all--if I save and turn off the game, when it comes back up, "Continue" isn't an option, only "New Game" or "Options".
That's one example of where, if ROMs you dump yourself will sustain that condition, you should be able to download it. I mean, I paid money for the stupid thing and it's broken, but it's illegal for me to get a working copy of it without spending more money?
