so i've had some issues trying to recover off the edge with samus...
coming up with a Fair or Uair usually gets shield grabbed, and off the stage i go again!

after getting fustrated with the above i try to roll, and i end up getting smashed back off the level, or to my death.

missles work time to time, but leave me open if i miss.

maybe the people im playing with know my style too well and learned to counter it :(
any other tips?

I fair a lot onto the stage, and I think it works ok. If I think they are going to shield grab me, I will DI away, maybe back down to the ledge. Just hitting A to attack onto the stage can work ok sometimes, cause people dont really expect you to do that.

Also, people have already mentioned some Samus ledge tricks:

Bombing onto the stage
Rising Zair on stages like Battlefield
Wall jump to Bair

Oh yeah and up B works great if they are close enough.

Samus can mix up her attacks while on the edge. You can return with an u-air, f-air, n-air, z-air, fully charged Charge Shot, Homing Missile or Super Missile to name a few. Keep in mind that Samus' f-air is different in Brawl than it was in Melee. In Brawl, you can move forward but still be able to move backwards. You'll simply hit your opponent with f-air while returning to the edge and getting some invincibility frames. Or, you can do f-air and follow it up with a d-tilt. Or, you could use your f-air and end up right behind your opponent and use an f-smash.

My favorite is using the Charge Shot, because you get to jump back a bit, blast the Charge Shot and then return to the edge. If you know what the people you play with are going to do, then try to figure a way around that. Also, I'd recommend that you don't roll if they know you're going to end up doing that. Try jumping. You get to use the jump from the edge, a second jump and a recovery jump (Screw Attack). Oh, and by the way, you can use your Screw Attack from the edge.

Oh yeah.. going under battlefield with bombs too. Thats more for show though.. it can be good to avoid the respawn invincibility, but its easy to get edge hogged on the other side.

Are there any other stages Samus can go under? I think Smashville too, right?

Yeah. Battlefield, Smashville, Frigate Orpheon, Skyworld, Final Destination. I cannot recall anymore stages at the moment. I've never gotten to the other side of Final Destination, but I did hear that it is possible to do, even though it's difficult.

FD is possible.
And I just fair like a madman.
But Imma have to mix it up like a madman.

The fair timing is stored in my fingers, hehe.

I often bomb onto the stage. It proves quite effective for me almost all of the time. But sometimes I'll Fair, just to change it up a little.

Lylat Cruise(?) Corneria.

What's DI mean? I know it as directional influence, but I don't think that's what it means here.

F-air is a very powerful ledge tool. great shield damage, multiple disjointed(semi small though) hitboxes. and it comes out relatively quick.

I find myself coming up with an F-air, grabing the ledge again, then jumping and firing a full charge shot. If they shield them both, it puts MAJOR pressure on their shield, most people back away for a few seconds which lets you come up with a Z-air or super missle.
but if they stand thier ground, i just keep trying to nick them with the edge of F-air's hitboxes, moving back, then grappling the ledge, into another F-air. repeat until they get hit by it(which leads into D/F-tilt or even a U-air in some cases) or until it put's enough pressure on thier shield to make em back off

In that ruined tower, atop a mountain.
Samus can pretty much do any aerial from the ledge... Nair, Dair, Uair, and Fair. Usually, however, I keep a little distance from the stage and fire my Charged Beam just before they try to gimp me. Then I Morph Ball Bomb recover back to the stage (using Grapple Beam if necessary).

A cool trick I like to do is wall jumping off of the bottom of FD, to fire a Super Missile across the floor upon rising. It's dangerous, but still neat looking and I don't think a Missile can get any closer to the floor without exploding. =D

Her aerials don't have enough priority or range save z-air to be effective from-ledge approaches IMO.. unless I'm just a huge n00b.

All her aerials can be thoroughly shield->shieldgrabbed, and the only way to escape it is to DI back towards the ledge.. She telegraphs well so a smart opponent can properly space and punish.

It might just be me but I have a hard time. :[

If you are getting shield grabbed from your fair you are being too predictable. I suggest if they're holding shield while you fair move back off the level, you're not forced to keep forward momentum. Regrab the ledge and see how they react.

This is like a week old, but I did get to the other side of Final Destination today with Samus. I did it four times. I'm trying to figure out what the best way to do it would be, because it's much larger than Battlefield, making it a bit more difficult to accomplish.

Samus has so many options to recover onto the stage, you really should have no trouble at all.

If they are right there, do a Uair or a Fair, if they are RIGHT on the edge land behind them, if they are not and they shield the move, back up and get on the edge again, keep spacing. Or you could jump up and fair or just jump over them.

If they are distance then zair or missle or fair still, or jump.
