Latin help...

Ok, so I'm trying to find how to say "Winged Swordsman"

so using my intellectual brain (...) I put into consideration that gladius=sword, and that gladiator is probably derived from that.

So I guess the "swordsman" part would be "gladia-" or something.

I have no idea what "Winged" is. I think it was Ala or something, dunno.

Anyone care to translate/Latinize the mentioned phrase? (It's for my own business, don't even ask )

I don't know the word for swordsman, I know that the word for warrior is bellator though.

I found a nickname somewhere (can't remember where) being used that goes by the name "Gladiaria Alata".

Presumably, it means "Winged Swordswoman".

Edit: Lol I remember where I found "Gladiaria Alata". Its from the Japanese manga series, "Mahou Sensei Negima". Ironic in my case, cause I haven't read that thing is a long while.

Actually, that would be winged swordswoman if anything. Those are feminine endings. If it does mean swordswoman, though, that would make 'gladiarius' your word for swordsman.

I also found 'gladiario'. would that mean the same thing? (if it is, i'd pick gladiarius anyway, lol)

So the 'alata' explained earlier would be winged, but for a woman? so alato or alatus would suffice, correct?

(Sorry If I don't make sense with the "-o's" I only know so little of Latin)

Ooh, -o endings are also masculine singular, I think. Or were they masculine plural? I was good at Latin, but that was like two years ago. You would definitely use alatus, though.

O_o I thought it was gladiarus NOT gladiarius. That makes it 3rd declension so...

Well, for the bit of Latin i know, and its not much, theres like 5 times for pronouns, and the ending a is for female, o usually for male and us sometimes for grenderless, but i dont really know.
