Red Exodus beat me to it.

Many people just don't have people nearby to play Smash with. Don't assume that just because they want online play that they're lazy and have no friends.

Personally, none of my real life friends are interested in Smash, or video games for that matter. The only ones who DO have a interest in Smash are no fun to play with. They literally get tired after 3 matches. Where's the fun in that?

Online Play would allow me to play with many of my online friends, and Random Matches would give me somebody to play with all the time.

I honestly don't care if it's the lag free perfection experience. I just want to have fun with Smash and to be able to play with other people.

I agree 100%. Nearly all of my friends like Smash (the only ones who don't, don't like videogames) but I can beat most of them with one hand! I'm not kidding, one time I was playing while talking on a phone and I used my left hand to move the analog stick and quickly moved to the C stick to attack. I also beat some of my friends at Mario Kart DS with one hand.

That's too funny. We were doing free for alls the other night, and I had to take a call so I took my wavebird around the corner and i was jsut handling the control stick and i was jsut like pressing up, and my friend's peach was cycling through radishes so he could throw a sicky at me, but he pulled a bomb and threw it straight down because he was cycling to quickly and I won XD. I just want to be able to play people better than me and that just wont happen where I live. Sure there are some excellent smashers in Ohio, 3 hour drive to columbus and about a 7 or 8 hour one to cinci. Solution? online helps me play better people, and i can still travel to tournies, now i just wont have to travel for smashfests.

Well that's why you travel. And if your not willingy to then that's your fault. And it's not CONFIRMED online, stop talking out of your ***.

Halo 2 proved that adding onlinbe ruins the offline experience. and that's with Xbox Live. Where they actully care about online. Nintendo's "Online" (I guess you could call it that) does not even stack up to it.

Toxn: Could you explain how online ruined the offline experience for you?

I look at Halo 2 as an example of a game that people would have stopped playing a long time ago if it wasn't for online gameplay.

Still, I don't see how the ablity to play online hurts the ablity to play online. And I am pretty sure that online has been confirmed to the point where eveeryone is just assuming it is in.

I don't want a referral so I'll tone down what I originally said.

If you don't already know about the online capability, you must be living under a rock.
They've done everything but put the update on Smash Dojo.

As I said in my post, I'm not in a position to travel, like alot of other people must be. It's not that these people are so anti social that they must be like the Halo and Gears kids that never see the light of day, its that it jsut isn't in the cards to travel 3+ hours for smash. Online will extend that ooportunity.

Brawl online is really the only option for most Smashers.

As Red said, not everyone has Wii's and Smash players abound in there area.

I can tell you now, its the only chance I have at Competitive play.

I got Wireless net JUST for it!
^ same here.
I can't really get into competitive play since its really hard to find people to play over here in Venezuela and if i want to play some people i have to travel 6 hours (to play 2 people i met) and they are not half as good as pros.
I want to get a chance to get into the pros, i've never been able to do it because i live in Venezuela.

Online will allow me to do so or at least play them a few times or whatever.

Lol actully now that I think of it it wil be sweet if it has online, that way all the kiddies stay at home.

Don't have anyone too play? Sucks too be you.

Lol at the person who said Halo and Gears kids being pale. There's only 1 halo pro who is pale (Luck). And gears community is gonna die this September.

Uh quick question, I'm bound to get a Wii this September, and I'm wondering, when I looked on the site, it said playing online was as simple as just starting your Wii up? What, does it just automatically detect your internet connection? I have DSL, so I'm wondering about this little issue.

You'll either need a wireless connection (best course of action), the usb- wi-fi adaptor( creates a wireless connection from your computer), or the lan adaptor cord. You can set up your internet connection relatively easy. I'm tellin' ya. Wireless is the way to go.

Well, I'm not sure if I can get a wireless connection at the moment, so the usb wi-fi adaptor sounds like it'd be good, but does it cost money? ><
