For those who have yet to hear the song, click here.

Lady Gaga's new hit single "Judas" has received a lot of praise, but it has also been the target of Christian disapproval, with them leaving comments and reviews saying things like "She's working with the Devil" or that she's "bashing Christianity".

What are your thoughts on the controversial song?

the fact that there's controversy over this is laughable.

Seems to be a case of people getting their feelings hurt far too quickly. Not every song is going to appeal to their mold (or refrain from expressing what may or may not be the artist's opinion). The fact that these people expect it to and are making such deal out of it is just childishness in my opinion.

I'll just say this...

Deicide said:
**** Your God, Holy mother for the ***** she is,
**** your God, bible thumper preaching threats from hymn,
**** your god, his revival and the holy Ghost,
**** your god; only tell us what we need to know,
**** your god, pointing fingers and then do as me,
**** your god, you are nothing and you'll never be,
**** your god; it is Satan who in trusts my soul,
**** your god, where the Christians are I will not go.
**** your god!!!!!

**** his, commandments, and prophet's left stranded to die,
Not in my heart or my soul as I go through this life,
Good book of bull**** lay dirty with vengeance and lies,
Go **** your Jesus and get- the- **** out my sight.
Regardless what Gaga has done, it can't possibly even come close to what metal has done to god...

Well to be fair, the genuine Christians haven't forgotten, it's the "I call myself Christian because I was baptised, but only believe the parts I want" Christians who forget the origins.

I don't mind them complaining about the song, as long as they don't think only religous things should be afforded that sort of immunity. It would have to be across the board, or no immunity should be granted for anything, even the religious.

Well. The song is pretty good I suppose...

The accusations that she may be working with the Devil or 'Bashing' Christians are ludicrous at best....
those statements don't even have a concrete basis. At least not in my opinion. A song is not nearly enough proof.

...You mean every christian that disagrees with you? :V
Every Christian disagrees with me because I'm not a Christian.

The equivalent of a convenience Christian is someone claiming to be an athiest, but believes the world was designed by a mind, or that there is a spiritual afterlife. Or something like a vegetarian who eats chicken.

There's a lot of music that's anti-christian. Lady Gaga seems like the type who would make more of it for attention or w/e

I hated the song. I don't see the controversy.

I agree with you about Gaga doing it for attention rather than genuine anti-Christian sentiment, but at the same time the motive behind it doesn't change how offensive the song is.

You're ****ting me, right? "Offensive"? That **** is tame. Refer to the deicide lyrics... Or slayer...

Hell Awaits said:
Existing on damnation's edge
The priest had never known
To witness such a violent show
Of power overthrown

Angels fighting aimlessly
Still dying by the sword
Our legions killing all in sight
To get the one called Lord

The Gates of Hell lie waiting as you see
There's no price to pay just follow me
I can take your lost soul from the grave
Jesus knows your soul can not be saved

Crucify the so called Lord
He soon shall fall to me
Your souls are damned your God has fell
To slave for me eternally
Hell awaits...
Or metallica...

Jump in the Fire said:
Down in the depths of my fiery home
The summons bell will chime
Tempting you and all the earth
To join our sinful kind
There is a job to be done and I'm the one
You people make me do it
Now it is time for your fate and I won't hesitate
To pull you down into this pit

So come on
Jump in the Fire
So come on
Jump in the Fire

With hell in my eyes and with death in my veins
The end is closing in
Feeding on the minds of man
And from their souls within
My disciples all shout to search out
And they always shall obey
Follow me now my child not the meek or the mild
But do just as I say

So come on
Jump in the Fire
So come on
Jump in the Fire

Jump by your will or be taken by force
I'll get you either way
Trying to keep the hellfire lit
I am stalking you as prey
Living your life as me I am you you see it's part of being every one
So reach down grab my hand walk with me through the land
Come home where you belong

So come on
Jump in the Fire
So come on
Jump in the Fire
...Bashing christians is nothing new. This song is incredibly tame.

I'm not saying it's offensive, I'm saying motive doesn't affect the degree of offensiveness.

And even if I did, there's no need to lose sleep over it.

Even so, the fact that there are more offensive songs in no way affects the offensiveness of the Gaga song. That's like saying spitting on Jews isn't offensive because they used to be mass murdered. So you're argument is about as useful as an electric attack on a ground pokemon.

I suppose... But what I'm trying to say is that people should lighten up about it. It's nothing new for a religion or a political group to get slammed in one way or another by a mass media; a pop song doing it shouldn't really ruffle anyone's feathers any more. I mean, seriously, who finds **** like that offensive?

Ok this is incredibly rich coming from you.

It's easy for you to say to lighten up because you hate religion. It's funny hearing you of all people saying to lighten up, the guy who is brought to insults and swearing over stage selections for a video game lol.

the definition of atheism is a lack of belief in god. that says nothing about the idea of an afterlife, any spirituality at all.

there is no reason to bring things that aren't related to the debate at all into this. that's a bit of a low blow in my opinion.

the irony of the situation is that the right to expression means that them voicing their opinion and hating the song is equivalent to her singing it in the first place. if it's not illegal, it's all good.

But he "low blows" me constantly, insulting me in multiple threads I haven't even posted in. But I guess that's not really an excuse to stoop to that level.
